Hello everybody, here's Clover Suite Builder is now Menulet the evolution of what you were used to know as builme New Setup The main goal, and the way this new tool has been designed is to be of use for the largest possible Clover's users and that means Not Only those used to clone the repository and having buildme do the rest. Clover Suite Builder will provide support also for those not inclined or not familiar with Terminal. And essentially you can place it anywhere into you drive, it doesn't

  4. for macOS Monterey i am working on a new version of TINU, the app has been migrated to swift 5, has native Apple Silicon support, new icons and improved graphics and of course I am testing it on the new os, it still isn't quite ready for release but the latest released beta version will work with the new OS release.

  5. Not sure whether they actually wanted to drop support for Nvidia GPUs... All legacy NV drivers are still there though. Changing SMBios should work then. By the way, I have added Monterey support to Lilu, AppleALC, and WhateverGreen. And I will add the same thing to all plugins now! EDIT: All done!

  8. Still checking stuff over. Some issues aren't related to AMD. Wifi not working ( Was using HS80211Family.kext in Big Sur, panics on Monterey. ). BT not working ( Don't use it much and needs upgraded anyway. ). Delay between booting and the login screen showing which I've seen plenty others comment on too.

  9. I encourage all less advanced users to read these instructions in detail so that their hackintosh gets better and better with the improvements of OpenCore. Some users are only interested in config.plist changes to get the new version up and running in no time. This is the wrong approach because this makes errors more difficult to understand or fix. This time the writing of the differences between versions has been very complicated. OpenCore developers have made a lot of changes and improvements. Suffice it to say that over 60 compilations have been released throughout May. Some of the cha

@Check-IN It's debug information from boot.efi (macOS bootloader), not OpenCore itself. "ERR" indeed does mean "ERROR", but it's different from a user-facing error. For example, a file, folder, or property not existing yields a "not found error" (0xE actually is the EFI code for "not found"), however that is not critical (i.e. not a user-facing error). Unfortunately there currently is not much documentation about the boot.efi output.

And to let this way more pleasure and organized, now we have 2 subforums entries at the Tutorials (The Genius Bar) section. Users who want to post their 'how-tos', tricks and guides to really make this Hackintosh world more fun and exciting can post there. Some of existing threads will be moved to there. But as the main section, there's some rules to follow, so please read them carefully before posting. Note: You can post in existing topics bu

  21. I installed Monterey over Big Sur. I am not using Lilu and all around so I need no new boot-args. VoodooHDA continue working. FakeSMC with plugins are working too.

  22. @LIMITANT - Thank you, I did manage to compile the kexts but did not have the chance to check without the mentioned boot args as the wife was on my back to do the gardening (should have stayed a bachelor ).

  23. So I was able to boot to Monterey successfully. I seem to have an issue with bluetooth loading properly but I will work on that. In the meantime, for those who, like me, forget this annual venture into uncharted waters, remember that this is a new version of macOS. If you use Lilu, be sure to add -lilubetaall to your boot args and, if you use Clover, be sure to put your custom kexts in the Other folder in Kexts. Once I did that, my system started up just fine.

Hi @Matgen84 - This sounds like it might be related to my answer to @eSaF from before: https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/344251-opencanopy-icons/page/29/?tab=comments#comment-2758764 . Basically, you would not normally use a `Flavour` property in `config.plist` for macOS (which is what it seems you are doing above?) - because macOS is (for any normal set up) picked up automatically by OpenCore, whereas `Flavour` properties in `config.plist` only even exist for things which are not picked up automatically by OpenCore (namely things in `Tools` and `Entries`). I think there s

Yes, just to be clear, the suggestion about using the recommended naming only applies if you are making icons intended for other people to take and use - then using the names that will be picked up automatically is better. Hmm - maybe I should update the `Flavours.md` doc with all the macOS names, so that at least you only have to look in one place! M

I've been concentrating on icons for now as I think it's more fun and easier for users to find/make their own backgrounds to their own taste, rather than for them to generate icon sets. Though I will maybe generate some backgrounds for any themes I produce. I know @chris1111 has created many different backgrounds for his themes. Maybe we could do with some group 'backgrounds' repo where many users can submit their own creations for others to choose from?

  31. Cool cool with languages, guys. Skipping few messages that are not in English is not that big of a problem, right ? We moved to private messages, so that's fine. But in a general way, when a specific problem is identified, I think we should open issues on GitHub. It's easier to follow issues one by one instead of this big forum where more than on conversation are going on at the same time. So, @AntarcticP and @PG7 : Could you open an issue on github. @PG7 You can open it in French, that's fine.

I had an idea for an ease of use configuration feature in OpenCore - a field called "CPU Family" or something like that. This should contain fixed rules/presets for booter and kernel quirks. For example you enter `CometLake`or `Skylake`and it automatically enables the necessary quirks for the chosen CPU family in th background.

  36. Well I'm back with a fresh install of macOS Monterey, after making an usb installer for macOS 12 beta. Yesterday I had an updated from BS installation, until all hell broke loose and I started to have random reboots, until I became angry and decided to start anew with an usb installer, and here I am again. Until this moment all works, sound, bluetooth, no purple stripes, let's see if it is solved...

    OpenCore Discussion

Not a fan of any app outside opencore development, I prefer to follow the commits on github, compile the master myself and manually change/update my EFI manually, all I need is terminal and textedit. I just saw a tutorial about that app on youtube, yes it seems simple to setup, but too much automated: this means that for the user, if it works it's a perfect app, if it doesn't, it's {censored}. And since I have respect for all the developers I prefer to not use any app and blame them, but blame myself to be an idiot if something goes wrong
