Do you mean what the cats sounds like when you cuddle them or when you step on their tail? My practical understanding is that they have different sounds (but I am pretty sure the sound is same all over the world (not that I am a big member of the felix or lupus linguistics community)) the spelling is interesting tough. :P

In norway it is common to write Voff Voff (bjeffer) when a dog barks, piiiv (ynker) when it is sad or hurt, grrr (knurrer) when it is angry. A cat would sound like mjau (mjauer) when it is miaowing, rrrr (maler) when it is cuddled.

In Hebrew:

Cat: מיאו (sounds like me yaw)

Dog: האו האו or הב הב (How How or Have Have)

Human: קאנט סבור כי המרחב והזמן הם האמצעים בהם אנו תופשים הכל. נדמה לי, אנ'לא בטוח

or, in English: please save me from this cruel creatures! they are everywhere!!!
