Mmm, it seems that with the latest installer, you can't select / deselect CHUD :/

I had the same kernel panic, but as stated above I was able to fix it by deleting the CHUD kext files.

However, the iPhone SDK wasn't installed, so I'll have to find a way to fix this one...

Well, that was easy to fix.
If anyone is interested:
In the packages folder of the iphone sdk file delete the CHUD package.
Then show the contents of the "iPhone SDK" installation file. (right click -> show contents)
Browse to Contents and then open "iPhoneSDK.dist".
In this file search for CHUD and delete all the lines that contain CHUD.

After doing this the installation never tried to install the CHUD package.

Hi all,

After buying my iPhone 3G i've been hours reading this forum looking for a stable way to run Leopard 10.5.4 on vmware so i could install the iPhone SDK. I've gone through several problems, but finally managed to get Leopard 10.5.5 running on vmware workstation 6.5 and installed iPhone SDK 2.1 with no problems..

It would be cool... but when I try to run Xcode, i get the error message "the application Xcode quit unexpectedly"

So I can do whatever i want with my new Leopard, except from developing, which is the only thing i wanted...

Any suggestions?

I'm on a Dell Inspiron 9400 Labtop

Something more about the iPhone SDK

- Dashcode -> Working
- Instruments -> Working
- Interface Builder -> Working
- Quartz composer -> I don't have the right graphics card

- Xcode -> "Application quit unexpectedly"

Could the Xcode error be caused by the graphics card too?

Speaking of OSX86 and the sdk, has anyone submitted an app yet to Apple? Did you get a nasty email about using a non-Apple Mac or was the app accepted?

I need some help here, I run the Iphone SDK installation package but it fails just after I type my password required for begin the installation, it shows the message "Installation failed", help would be appreciated. Thanks

Problem solved, I did install iphone_sdk_9a2151.dmg (you can find it in any torrent site) and everything seems to work fine, I didn't have to patch the file or replace Iphone SDK.mpkg inside the dmg, I have Kalyway 10.5.2 running on a Turion 64 X2 Laptop. Thank you anyway and keep sharing knowledge.

hmmm...downloaded the sdk today and every time it starts mounting the dmg, I get the same screen you are getting (but you get it later on in the process, I don't even get to start the actual install...)

the only problem with my install that I know of is the graphics card driver (865g, can only use 1024x768) - and possibly that my itunes is  slightly outdated, though I don't think that would crash anything that early in the process.

ps: is it safe to update itunes?

I run the 10.5.6 xxx distribution.

EDIT: I now have an ATI2400 pro card that works well with all other apps. Everything except SDK installer seems stable. Hope I find a way around this crashing problem....apparently not graphics card related.... the only other thing I have to do is due to my P4 version, I have to put in a couple of parameters every time I boot (fsb=133000000 and one other one..). Still everything (besides sdk) works like a charm!

On a sidenote, installed iTunes latest version as well as some other updates. Except for not helping with the sdk installer problem, everything else works great.
