Computer Type: Laptop, Gateway m-6864FX

Sound Card Vendor: IDT/SigmaTel

Sound Card Model: STAC9205

Vendor Id: 0x838476a0

Working: Speakers

Not Working: Mic, Headphones(somewhat)

Patcher Version used: 1.20

System Version: Leopard 10.5.2

obs: Mic not working. Speakers will not mute. Headphone jack works but sound also comes out of speakers.

I just patched the AppleHDA.kext (got the codec dump by booting into BT3 and "cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 > ~/Desktop/codec_dump.txt") and moved the Info.plist into the kext. Than I repaired permissions and deleted the cache.

I am going to be keeping the AppleHDA patcher program, so if anyone needs 1.20 just email: DL200010@gmail.com

Not Working: Built-in microphone. Shows up as an output device with no controls.

Patcher Version used: 1.16

Here is how i made it work:

1) Install HDAEnabler kext

2) Use the pather with the attached codec file.

3) Repair permissions and reboot

4) Presto!

It did NOT work with patcher 1.20 or any other version, make SURE you use 1.16!!

hey.

ive got a problem with my alc 883

ive used the hda patcher and got the same result with defernt versions. (1.16 1.17 1.20)

i got all the components in sound prefs like internal speakers and line out.

my line out is giving a very very faded sound on full volume on both computer and speakers.

internal speakers dont work at all or it just to low for me to hear.

ive attached my codec dump from linux.

thanks.

I did every thing according to instructions. Dumped codec, drag-n-dropped it on the turtle (not the frog :-) And it ruined my system - after kernel panic, I've boot to single user mode and deleted AppleHDA.kext, still system wasn't able to boot.

Taruga said that I should upgrade the kernel, but it is not possible. I'm using voodoo kernel (big-up for developers!) latest available version. And this is the only one kernel which works on my machine. About the machine: Asus Eee PC 900, iDeneb v1.3 (Leo 10.5.5), ALC662 ver 1 codec.

On my lappy it is impossible to get any network (ie LAN, WiFi), so I need at least sound to enjoy this "macbook micro"! I won't give up!!!!!!!!

P.S. linux codec dump attached

Computer Type: Dell Precision 390

Sound Card Vendor: Sigmatel

Sound Card Model STAC9200

System: Leo 10.5.5

Working: "Internal Speakers" aka the green line out on the rear panel

not tested: "Mic In" which shows up in System Preferences/Sound

No Built-In Audio shows up in System Profiler, but the playback works - that's all I care about...

Used AppleHDAPatcher 1.20, and this codec dump:

This was a long and winding road for an OSX noob...

Thanks,
