  1. for some reason, on my retail 10.6.0 install on my new rig (info in sig) my volume keys do not actually change the volume, it makes the plop sound, and the bezel comes up on the screen but the level never changes, only mute actualy works, I can only change the volume level in system prefs. It does this not only with my onboard alc888 (working via azalia kext) but with my USB Griffin iMic too, which is supported by OS X out of the box, on a brand new install.

    Leo4Allv4.1 AMD Released

I get the same thing. Screen Sharing works to and from the hack. But as far as file shatring goes, I can get to my MBP, and mini from the hack, but not the other way around.

    Leo4Allv4.1 AMD Released

One other thing, like previous OSX86 builds I've used, except leo4all v2, I have to have the install DVD in the drive to boot. Other than that, it's up and running perfectly. nothing has randomly crashed on me like with v2 yet, not even EyeTV!

    Leo4Allv4.1 AMD Released

just tried that with my 7600, but it only gives me a blank screen. I wonder if I would be able to install the drivers from the leo4all v2 DVD, which worked out of the box EDIT: IT WORKED!! reinstalled 4.1 with no nvidia drivers selected, then pulled up my v2 iso, and installed nvidia-kexts and nvinject 256, rebooted, and my 7600 is now fully functional

    Leo4Allv4.1 AMD Released

Got it installed fine, except I can not get my graphics out of 1024x768 (worked out of the box with Leo4All v2) XFX Geforce 7600 GT (PCIe). I've grown tired of messing with it today, I'll try again tomorrow.

    USB TV Tuner

I use an EyeTV 200 (firewire) and a Pinnacle PCTV HD Pro Stick on my hack, and MBP, both work without a problem.
  9. Fake Mac Pro is the tower you can partially see in the bottom left corner. hooked up to the two LCDs (22" Dell and 19" Samsung) the Macbook Pro is running XP in VMWare full screen on Leopard, and the mac mini (G4) is displayed on the TV. The tower on the shelf is my XP server, that is also hooked up to the analog input on the dell LCD

    Which mouse do you use?

I use a Logitech LX7 cordless, works flawlessly (except when it was plugged into the PS/2 port, where it didn't work at all
  11. the case they are using for this thing is amazingly close (but still quite different) to the case I have my fake mac pro in (see link in sig)

why did you make a hackintosh?

Two reasons: excessive boredom, and to take some load off of my G4 mac mini. Which was under too much load from recording 9 hours of XM radio a day, running EyeTV, and running a media server to allow the iTunes library to be accessed over the internet.

Oh my god guys! Please help me!

I get the message saying the disk is unreadable, with my thumb drive on my MBP, when I leave it plugged in through a reboot. If I just unplug it, and plug it back in, it works. But mine is Fat32 formatted.

Dual booting Vista & OS X

Ok, after searching all over here, I was not able to find a solution, to boot into Vista, without having to boot with UBCD and change the vista partition to active and then rebooting again. I am unable to boot OS X without the install DVD in the drive, I had wanted to make it boot Vista if I did not have the DVD in by leaving the vista partition active, but when I booted OS X, for some reason, unless the OS X partition is set active, it would see my onboard video that I do not use (and can't disable) and make the video all messed up. I finally did come across this http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=55427 I can set the OS X partition active, and now, if I want to boot to vista, I just pop the floppy disk in, without having to change anything with the partitions It says this can be done with 2000/XP too, But I don't have either, So I don't know if it is the same process or not.
  15. 10.4.3 reported my P4 (prescott) properly, at 3.0GHz (or 2.99) 10.4.6 reports it as 1.5GHz, it still runs fine though. Would hyperthreading cause it to report as half speed?
