So I am pround to announce a new improved build of SSE3 kernel is available from the kernelbot at the #kernel IRC channel. This one featuring some compiel tweaks, might boost your xbench score a bit. Beside I wanted to bring some stats from IRC to your attention*: b8 - downlaoded 1168 times b9 - downlaoded 1367 times Cheers everyone, let's go to 07! * these stats represent the downlaods since the kernelbot@osx86kernel.org went online (Dec. 15th). fiscus
Thanks Semethex - all installed. Just wondering if you ever had a change to look at the Ethernet issue with them not being recognized in your kernel for flexlm licensing apps. My nic appears to be install and working properly but unfortunately under your kernal I can't install my student copy of maya as it doesn't recognize the nic. (I've been told your kernel does recognise it properly, rather than a kext issue). gotoh
Intel rig P4D820 (see sig for details) Darwin Kernel Version 8.8.1: Wed Jan 10 01:14:49 CET 2007; root:/nebukadnezar/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386 i386 i386 geekbench 32 gives me 192Pts, I had 193Pts with Beta8 kernel geekbench64 gives me "bus error" just like with Beta8 kernel Xbench results are approximately the same with SF3 and Beta8. seems to run fine so far but no improvement here - anyway, this P4D820 CPU is really {censored}. I hope I can get a core 2 duo soon... Let me know if you want any special test running on my intel or AMD combos with this kernel. thanks for your great work ! gotoh
Well, I just had my first Kernel Panic. Just browsing with Safari, and right at the moment I minimized Safari to dock, BING, kernel panic. It did not created a Panic.log so I can't tell more. I have been using Beta8 for weeks without problem but SF3 seems less stable.
