tinux
Hi all I have lion osX installed which works fine so far minus few bits and pieces(minor issues). i have now got DP4 version. is there a way to upgrade to DP4 rather then having to re-install it all over again?. By the way you can't upgrade via software manager without code from apple store. Thanks
fantomas
hi DP4 install is the same as for the DP1 ! Just copy over the contents of the packages, you must also copy mach_kernel ( invisible file , use ShowAllFile program ) and that's all !!! me@home
Thanks for the reply I can re-install without issue but was hoping to upgrade rather than install again Well, just -do as I did- dl DP4 then copy to Partition / USB Stick and then run installer and INSTALL over your old DP3 and have fun after 30min with DP4 and all your working proggies - even games doesn't care to work now under DP4 instead of DP3. Maxetto
Update to DP4 same as DP1, before this, if you want, you can make a Backup with Time Machine
tdtran1025
Thanks for the reply I can re-install without issue but was hoping to upgrade rather than install again I installed DP4 over all of my installations (10.6.8, DP2 and SP3) with no hiccup. It took 18 more minutes but all programs and settings are preserved. I tested it 5 times over.
CrazyELF
If you have Dp1,dp2,dp3, you can to make reinstall with Dp4.iS the better and easy way. HI I'm trying to Upgrade Lion DP 3 Build 11A459e to DP4 some one said to just install over existing os dp3.. I run the installer it copies the files over and then say need to reboot i let it and it load right back into DP3 there is no install of any kind.. I've also tried to do a fresh install with the DP1 and 2 methods and when i load the partion I just get a Grey screen with the Rainbow wheel and that's it... I'm Running a Dell Vostro 220 with an GeForce 9800 GT Any thoughts or help would be Great!

Openminded
I just ran dp4 from a network share in dp2 or 3. It all wnt fine, leaving everything I had, except for the extra installed Java. Fortunately I kept that. It sucks pretty much to have no Rosetta. Did anyone make a Lion-Rosetta installer ?
TIMMAYOSX
I have not tried, but can you not simply install Rosetta off your Snow Leopard Install DVD?
bryan51
Hmm ... i just updated to DP4 from the App store. DP4 didn't fix any of my issues from DP3 though. Still don't have sound working on my ALC892. I have the USB issue too where my keyboard/mouse don't work. Odd thing is though that I have a USB hub and if I plug into that then all is fine. My p55-usb3 has usb2 and usb3 ports and I did update the Bios to the beta FG10 Bios though.
