for my two hack systems I had to specify the PCI RootID in boot.plist in order for the Apple Store to work under Lion. under 10.6.7 this wasn't needed.

using the latest or a recent version of Chameleon, add this -

PCIRootUID=0 or 1

the majority of Gigabyte boards are 1, the rest 0.

I've made this steps but i got same result

In my case,same error as other people`s occured...but when I tried Netshade 4 to see if I could bypass that issue this message popped up...


This makes me think, could it be Apple trying to know which Macs should be allowed to update to Lion? (I`m on 10.6.8)

Is there a way to make System Profiler show the info like it`s a real Genuine Mac?
Maybe editing the specs I know there`s a way but just can`t find how to do it

Luckly I don't have that problem (yet). But Apple is really stupid if they proceed with this. People don't pay for Hackintoshes, so the App Store is a way for Apple to get some money from us, which is always better then nothing.

I'm not sure if it is anything to do with 'piracy' seeing as adding a simple line fixes it for some people.

Well, imagine you already bought some app there and can't access it now. Yes, I know, that's your point basically, but mine is just as legit. I want to access it, no matter if I plan to buy any more there .

open that file up in text edit or plist edit etc...

This works, en0 needs to be wired port even if your using wifi. I had the same issue till I fixed en0 to my wired port .... after that app store worked fine.

I checked built in from the Chameleon system preference pane, which is the same as adding this line:

<key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
<string>Yes</string>

And then deleted this file:
Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist

And then rebooted.  This got it working for me so hopefully it helps other people too.  My system has a Realtek 8111E.

I use a PCI Wireless card to access the internet and my motherboard has built-in ethernet of course.

To get app store to work I had to add EFI strings for my wireless card into my boot.plist in the extras folder.

My wired ethernet still shows as en1 but since I don't connect to the internet with that, I don't think it matters.

Tools used: gfxutil, efi studio and ioregistryexplorer
