Whats wrong with u people , r u going to actually even bother to read my post? Eddie at least you help me .. you made Leo4all

Well I'm not sure what you mean exactly by "geforce kexts" but your problem sounds similar to one I was having with the nvidia drivers included in theleo4allv3 install disk and my 8800gs.

My suggestion is to install without the graphics drivers and then go get the NVInstaller .41 and install the leopard 10.5.2 grapics drivers and NVInject matching your card from that. I believe it is supposed to have the updated drivers from the new MacBook pros, and it solved the problems I was having.

And could someone answer a quick question for me? And this might be silly, but is "kexts" basically synonomous with "drivers?"

One other thing that may be relevant is I used the vanilla 256 option. I dont know what vanilla means in this instance, but it worked and system profiler reports the VRAM correctly as 384mb.

Hi i'm really bad with this stuff so i need help.

I recently downloaded Leo4allv3, and it came in 37 rar files. I tried to extract files to leo4all folder in WinRar (Windows) and i burned the iso image but when I run the disk i get to the install part and it says that the install failed because it was missing the files the install needs. Someone please help me! :)

Specs:

Toshiba Satellite a215

AMD Turion 64x2 2.0 GHz

2 GB DDR2 Ram

ATI Radeon X1200

Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter

Thanks in advance.

v.4 or v.41? And have you repaired permissions? It's also possible this isn't the solution to your problem. I don't know anything about what it takes on an AMD machine or an SSE2 machine.

Put the file back in your torrent program and check to make sure it all downloaded correctly. And when you burn the iso make sure you burn it sloooooowly.

If at first you don't succeed...

Really nice work on the installation. I have a Thinkpad T60 with the ATx1300 card and it looks great. I was not prompted for any options, It just installed. Is that normal?

Now the down side. I am a noob at this Mac on Intel stuff, so please point me in the correct direction to perform any tweaks that may have already been discussion many times other places. I have tried google, but to no avail.

- No Audio - It says no audio devices available.

- No CD/DVD Rom - I read one post with a person that had this problem, but not solution.

- YouTube - It will play about the first 5 seconds of a video and locks up.

Cheers,

Sig

I've had to return to XxX OSx86 10.4.11 as a few small things about Leopard weren't working.

The only screen saver that worked was flurry, and when I loaded Toast 8 (my own legit copy), once clicked on to open the program wouldn't start, any fixes or help is appreciated.

Otherwise this version of Leo looked to be working great on my hack, great work and thank you for the hard work you've put into this release.

Leo4Allv3 is AWESOME!

With a BIOS flash and the included Marvel drivers, I was finally able to install OS X w/ a MSI P35 Neo2 mainboard.

I've had this board laying around for a couple months hoping it would eventually work because it has a lot of features and is great for overclocking.

Hey guys, just got my phenom 9550 in and thought I'd see what would happen if I tried to boot into Leo...... Long story short, nothing happened, nada, no boot, no nothing. I had it working perfectly with my x2 4600+, but alas, I fear the quad broke it :(

Just to be specific on what happens now, well, nothing happens. I pick my Leo Drive to boot from, Darwin starts up, then the machine reboots. I am going to try and mess around with the cpus=1 or whatever command at boot, but so far no good. I also tried booting from the DVD to see if that would work, and it did zilch as well ;) .

If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears :)

Here's my setup just in case

ASUS M2R32-MVP (1101 Bios)

AMD PHENOM X4 9550

USB HDD (Western Digital IDE I think)

4GB Geil PC26400

You have to click the "customize" button on the screen after you select your install disk to choose install options. It doesnt prompt you.

Thank you for your help, I will try what you told me. But do you have any reccomended directions for extracting the .rars in WinRar in Windows Vista?

Well clicking on any of the rars should unzip them all into your ISO. Then open your iso in your burning program and go to town. Slowly. I do this stuff on my MacBook pro using unrarx and toast though. I'm guessing it should be pretty much the same in vista.

Neither Toast 8 nor 9 work. Luckily I can burn .iso in vmWare and Disk Utility. Power ISO works great inside VMware for Disk Burning

So far as screesavers... Buy a Video Card. The 30 bucks or so is worth it. I Purchasde an nVidia 7600GS for $32.00 off ebay. Works great with nvinject 0.2.1, QE/CI work great and so do ALL my screensavers now. Without that card no screensaver heaven.

Thanks for the input

I was using an nvidia 7300GT but still the screen savers didn't work, well the default Flurry did.

So will there be a new and slightly "improved" release anytime soon?

this install is great, originally i was trying kalyway, it wouldnt boot into setup if i had a ps/2 keyboard plugged in, maybe because the moue i have is usb, and it WOULDNT boot from a sata dvd drive, id get the waiting for root device {censored}, i actually went to all the trouble of installing another ide dvd drive from an older comp. And thats really alot of work in this horribly designed compaq case. I install with leo4all v3 and didnt have the keybaord issue, it booted and installed perfectly from the sata drive and im posting right now using that install :(. Only issues i had are that the setup assistant after installin locks up because my onboard ethernet i guess isnt in the kext, and neither is my atheros wifi. Fixed that up in single user mode. Also had a horrible time with lockups and wifi, but thats not a leo4all fault, i had to install the tiger kext then edit it.

Specs:

AMD athlon 64x2 4000+

Nforce 430/6150se (mcp61)

2gb ram

8600gt

250gb sata/60gb ide hdds

sata dvd

dlink dwl-g520 wifi (atheros 5212) (working with edited tiger io80211family.kext)

Reposting (hopefully for a response) RE: Ethernet not working.I'm running an Asus M2N-SLI Motherboard (with NVIDIA nForce 5 chipset for lan).Forcedeth didn't work so I'm asking you guys for help. Here's my Leo4all install:
I have the asus m2n-sli deluxe motherboard (amd) which I am guessing you have. None of the stock kext on any release works for this motherboards lan. I found this on the forum sometime ago and have used it with Zeph release on my board. Hopefully you will find this helpful. I wish I remembered where I got them so that I could give proper credit but I couldnt even find the link again. What you have to do is install them using kexthelp, shutdown, unplug your pc for a minute, turn it back on and it should work. Here is the catch: you have to setup your boot.plist for cpus=1 cause when you download starts to pick up speed it will crash. I have not had a problem with this after i did the cpus=1 and it ran perfect for me. Hope this helps you
How does this compare to, let's say, the 10.5.2 Kalyway?
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 and have tried both Kalyway & Leo4All releases. I have to say the only reason why I tried Kalyway release was because I didnt really like how Leo4All was setup. I was bias mostly because the only release I ever used was Zephyroth which was clean and worked perfect. But what I have found is that the things I had to complain about with Leo4All where things that where simple problems that had to do with my Dell X3100 drivers which is an ongoing problem that everyone with a X3100 chipset has to deal with. Simply put, when I installed Kalyway on my system I would get random kernel panics which I couldnt figure out why. I have been running Leo4All on my laptop for 2days uptime and not one crash and its running perfectly for me. Granted I still have an issue with sound/video which is an ongoing problem for all that has the similar chipset but other than that Leo4All will be my choice for laptop (intel system) cause I still love Zephyroth for my amd system :-P
