  1. I am having trouble patching my DSDT for my Dell 1749. I am experiencing a few problems with my machine at the current time. Sleep works but can sometimes beep when waking up, seems to be when I'm pressing a key or something. Laptop does not go to sleep when lid is closed, however it does wake when opening the lid O.o -I have looked up various things to patch this, I'm not sure whether I made it wake up when lifting lid or whether that was in there already. Graphics don't seem 100% my card definately feels like it's being bottlenecked or restricted in some way. I don't think SpeedStepping is working and this is giving me other issues. Sound goes {censored}ed up after waking from sleep, however when I move windows (do things) it seems to sound good for a second and then go back. I guess my CPU isn't properly set up although I have no idea how to patch it with Speedstepping. I have been using busratio=18 but that doesn't seem to help I commented off a few CPUs in DSDT, there were 8 and I put them down to 4. I don't know why there were 8 I have a dual core i3 so no way are there ever gonna be 8 cores or logical processors. My Battery detection also does not work, I used VoodooBattery and that detects the power being in and out. I am using iMac 11,2 SMBIOS as it is closest to my laptops hardware, Clarkdale i3 etc. As I say I have no idea how to patch this stuff and hopefully someone can patch it for me if they would be so kind My System Specs: Dell Studio 1749 Intel i3 370M @ 2.4GHz AMD Radeon HD 5650 (Loaded using ATY_init.kext and using Nomascus framebuffer, QE enabled) 6GB RAM Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 iMac 11,2 SMBIOS Chameleon Config <key>DSDT</key> <string>/Extra/dsdt.aml</string> <key>EnableC2State</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EnableC3State</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1600x900x32</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>1</string> <key>USBBusFix</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>UseKernelCache</key> <string>No</string> <key>Wake</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> </plist>
  2. Thanks! I got it working but QE doesn't work DVD Player crashes, I tried to change the frame buffer but it just stays the same. Do you have a link to the tutorial.
  3. I seem to have the same kind of config. I have a Dell Studio 1749 with 5650, I was trying to get this to work for ages. I couldn't get anything out of it, even after patching my DSDT. It's very strange, hopefully someone gets a fix
  4. One thing you should keep in mind when editing the Mountain Lion kexts is that they are all now only 64-bit. So before the personalities would be there twice, once for x86 and once for x64, now there is only one for x64.

    HD 7750?

Doubt anything will happen until Apple release an official driver as there have been bits of the 7000 series drivers in some of the ML Developer Previews. Sadly there is no complete release yet. It is very unlikely that someone can put a driver for the whole lineup together before Apple eventually release a driver of course apple may never release it as they may have been testing AMD cards as well as nvidia and went for nvidia in the end killing the AMD off. Of course that's all hypothetical and we just have to hope! I have a 7850 and would love to see some OS X action on it too I guess it's best to wait for the upcoming NVidia Kepler cards that match the performance and price as apple will likely if not already support them. The wait continues
  6. Here I have made a DSDT for my motherboard. I haven't actually tested this yet but I will soon. I fixed all of the errors and remarks that were thrown up and it should function I'm happy as this is my first DSDT patch, it was easier than I thought which is good! I hope someone finds this useful! MSI B75MA-P45.zip
  7. It's an Ivy Bridge so you should find support for that as most macs are now ivy bridge. Also it uses the Intel HD 4000 Graphics which is also used in some of the MacBook's so you should have fairly good support. You'll probably have to double check the chipset but I'd say it should work.
  8. Yes it is possible! If you install Lion and a fairly recent version of the Chameleon Bootloader you should get it to work. However it's not simple as that with all setups as you may need to boot with another display personality.
  9. Hey there fellow modders and hackintosh lovers. I bought this PowerMac G5 case about a year and a half ago, about March 2011 and I just haven't done anything with it. I gave it to a relative who was going to work on it however did not so I got it back and started looking into modding it to take a standard mATX motherboard. I've gone through several ideas one using the existing standoffs to mount an acrylic sheet inside with the various mATX standoffs installed. However this would mean that the Mobo was elevated so I ended up just scrapping the idea also because the I/O at the back would also be difficult. One day, today I just thought screw this, I'm actually going to start this thing and I happened to have a jigsaw handy. It was fairly easy to cut through the aluminium, it feels alot stronger than it actually is! But it makes one hell of a noise with the jigsaw. This is what I was left with after cutting the back out. I have a Motherboard tray from a scrap case and I will be mounting the backplate into a aluminium sheet and then rivet that to the case. Getting the actual tray which supports the motherboard will have to be glued or supported in another way. I hope to update this soon!

    ATI HD 7670M

There is no current support for any 7000 Series Graphics Card as of yet. There have been drivers seen in various releases of Mountain Lion however not all of the kexts and drivers that are needed have been available to us yet. I guess we're just gonna have to wait until Apple choose to release them!
  11. I have a Dell Studio 1749 and I've tried everything, like all different framebuffers. I've got all the right info but I can never get it to work on my LVDS. However my VGA works fine with my setup. Most people seem to have 3 ports with their setup, LVDS, HDMI and VGA. I have LVDS, DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA, maybe the extra port changes something?? Either way I would like to know if anyone has the same kind of thing and actually got somewhere with it. My Laptop is a Dell Studio 1749 with a Mobility Radeon 5650.
  12. When you installed your system what kexts did you need? Also do you have a DSDT installed? Lastly what are your BIOS settings?
  13. What did it freeze at? Like what was the last thing the kernel prints?
