1. - Where to start?: A nice guide on how to create your own USB installer is provided here: http://www.insanelym...-for-beginners/ I do recommend using this method: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/302220-pandoras-box-20-candidate-3-roll-out/ It's self-explanatory. If you only run Windows at the moment, install OS X into a virtual machine, and follow the guide from there. - What will not work?: - Wifi, you will have to replace the card, i switched mine with an Atheros 9285. Note: After replacing, your Bluetooth will not work anymore, so an USB Wifi device would be the better option perhaps. - Card reader, no solution for this at the moment. - Nvidia GT 650M, the card has been completely disabled in the DSDT. If this is not done it will make your system freeze on startup if the NVDA* and GeForce* kexts are not removed. Also, the system will overheat if it is not disabled. Since you can not use the card, it is best to disable it. - Wake from sleep, the display does not wake up. This has been fixed in the new DSDT attached to this post. - HDMI out. Requires patching of the AppleIntelFramebufferCapri to enable AAPL,ig-platform-id 0x03. On every update of OS X you will need to patch this file again before rebooting. Not patching or editing the DSDT before reboot will result in a black screen. New patch enables HDMI audio out and corrects the vram to 512mb. - What will partially work?: - Touchpad, recognized as trackpad, only basic input, no gestures like 2 finger scrolling. - Audio, LineIn and the subwoofer will not work. - FN keys, for Audio and Wifi FN keys for brightness have been fixed. - USB 3.0, depends if you want compatibility with USB 2.0 flash drives. Both devices work. Booting with GenericUSBXHCI, have not tested without it. - Lan, only with specific settings. Official Realtek driver. Realtek Driver. - So...What does work?: - Speedstep - Sleep, patched IntelCPUPowerManagement or an unlocked bios. - Intel HD4000, DSDT injection, patched AGPM. (Need to explore) - Audio, line out, speakers, HDMI and internal mic, DSDT injection and a patched AppleHDA. - Battery status, ACPIBatteryManager and DSDT edit. Corrections have been made in the DSDT attached. - Webcam - Brightness control, in system preferences. - 1. Pre-Installation. - Download the EFI15022015.zip from this post and place it on your desktop. When you opened Pandora's Box, select bootloader > Clover UEFI, click start. I had some issues with Pandora installing the bootloader. - When Pandora is done download Clover configurator, select mount EFI, on the bottom right corner, Mount EFI partition, and select the USB s1 (disk2s1 in most cases). - Open folder, it will be empty, just copy the EFI folder to that partition. - 2. Installation. Boot from the USB installer, it will boot in verbose mode, if any error occurs, you can take a photo of it and attach it to a post here. First you need to prepare the HDD to install Yosemite on. I recommend using and empty HDD, format it to GPT, with 1 partition formatted to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Now go through the setup and select your newly created partition. Grab a cup of coffee or something. - 3. Installing a bootloader. After installation the system will reboot. Boot from the USB installer again. When you arrive at the Clover boot loader screen, select the partition you have just installed OS X to, and press enter. OS X will load, go through the system setup. The first thing you want to do is install a bootloader to the HDD. I have attached the files needed for Clover. A guide on how to install Clover can be found at the bottom of this post, under the spoiler. You can also use Clover Configurator, makes things a lot easier. - 4. Patching AppleHDA.kext A guide on how to do this can be found here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/283754-patched-applehdakext-for-codecs-idt-92hd81b1x5-92hd91bxx-92hd87b13-92hd87b24-92hd87xx-etc/ Pinconfig: - 5. AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext It is no longer needed to change the device id in the DSDT. Former patch method can still be found in the old guide. I have included a file called: aifc09022015.sh, just drag and drop it in the Terminal window, type "y" to patch the kext. This patch will make the following changes in the AppleIntelFramebufferCapri: Original section: 04 00 66 01 01 03 01 01 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 40 10 07 00 00 10 07 00 00 00 00 00 00 20 50 03 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 03 00 00 02 00 00 00 30 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 40 In the second line is the vram, 40 stands for 1024mb. We change this to 20 so that OS X will detect 512mb. 05 03 00 etc is the display device, as you can see, only the internal LCD is defined, so we need to add the HDMI outputs. The default ones from device id 03006601 only detect the display output, no sound. I've taken the HDMI devices from device id 03006601 and added them corrected to 04006601. It looks like this: 04 00 66 01 01 02 04 02 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 20 10 07 00 00 10 07 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 05 03 00 00 02 00 00 00 30 02 00 00 02 05 00 00 00 08 00 00 07 04 00 00 03 04 00 00 00 08 00 00 81 00 00 00 04 06 00 00 00 08 00 00 81 00 00 00 More information about this subject can be found here: http://forum.osxlatitude.com/index.php?/topic/2945-guide-for-enabling-vga-and-hdmi-in-intel-hd4000-gpu/ - 6. AppleGraphicsPowerManagement. Switched to a new model. To edit this kext, copy it from /System/Library/Extensions to ~/Desktop. Now right click on the kext, and show package contents. Open Contents and open the Info.plist with Plisteditor. Now search for the following: Mac-4B7AC7E43945597E Under this, you will find something like the following code (Select the whole IGPU section): Replace it with the following: Save the file, and install the edited kext. - 6. AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext. If you do not have an unlocked bios, or the patch option enabled in Clover, you need to patch this kext to prevent kernel panics. To edit this kext, open Terminal and type the following: sudo -s *password* I have included a file called: aicpm.sh, just drag and drop it in the Terminal window, type "y" to patch the kext. You're done. Patch: Old Guide: How to install Clover and add it to the UEFI Boot menu: - Be careful when replacing the current boot loader, your system may become unbootable if you skip a step, or do not pay attention! AMD Kernel

Version 10.7.x RC 13

Kernel developed by Bronzovka (on InsanelyMac he uses the nickname "bronya") which includes the newest patches by Sinetek (the opcode emulator, tool that enables SSSE3 and SSE4.2 for CPUs that otherwise won't support it) and Andy Vandjick (the built-in decrypt tool), and Bronzovka's own original patches and newest fixes, always remembering that he's the developer who first came up with a working 10.7.x kernel for AMD machines. With this kernel, you'll be able to boot with either 64-bit kernel mode (x86_64) or 32-bit kernel mode (i386), and both modes will support 64-bit applications and processes, so no more replacing the Finder or patching XPCHelper to avoid crashes like in the old days. nVidia users must stick to i386, due to a bug in the patchset that will render the system unusable in 64-bit kernel mode. ATI users can try both modes, opting for the one which gives the more reliability. Boot with arch=x86_64 (or i386) and -nossse3bit (except for FX-series CPUs) flags for the best results. There's a version FX-series-specific kernel as an option. Both will work with all versions of Lion to date. Enjoy! Many thanks to Bronzovka and all people directly and indirectly involved in this development.
4. It's built and tested on my ML system... Source is included... This kext will work always on AMD... replacement for Dont steal Mac OS X.kext (move somewhere after install AppleDecrypt.kext) Enjoy Again thx to Sinetek for the decryption algo's Watch closely in the screen cap... (no Dont steal Mac OS X lol) I've made kexts for Lion and ML EDIT: ML version should work for Mavericks too... EDIT2: New version, Mavericks optimized. This one (under Release Mavericks) is code signed. (no more nag screen stating unknown kext etc...) EDIT3: New version, Yosemite optimized. This new version does not use OpenSSL anymore but instead loads up Apple's corecrypto.kext and uses that. I found the proper way to use Apple's corecrypto interface and it's much faster Also the code is built with Xcode 6.1 and fully optimized for running really fast. The Yosemite optimized version is in the V2 zip file and source, as usual, is included. It should be possible to recompile the kext on other systems as well because the corecrypto interface is still at 1.0, so no change. (Lion / 10.7 or better). EDIT4: Added github repo. https://github.com/andyvand/AppleDecrypt AppleDecrypt-Sinetek-AnV.zip AppleDecrypt-Sinetek-AnV-V2.zip

I want to know if anyone has and tricks to get the system to boot. 6. Hi all! I want to apologize for my English is not perfect, but I'm Italian. I have a problem with my hackintosh 10.7.3 Lion. YouTube does not work. Load videos, but sometimes go in spurts, and sometimes not start. Are there any kext or other changes to get YouTubeworking? Thank you!
7. Hey guys, I have a Fujitsu T4200 laptop running iATKOS 10.7.5. Everything works except WiFi. I have bought a Raspberry Pi and installed Samba on it in order to share my 1TB hard drive over the network and access it over Ethernet. Now the problem is that the share isn't recognized in the Finder. It just doesn't pop up in the "Shares" section of the Finder's sidebar. I also tried to connect to it by pressing "Command+K" to bring up the "Connect to Server" menu, I enter smb:// (with being the IP address of the RasPi). Then I press "Connect" and it will try to connect forever. WIndows recognizes the share just fine and I have read/write access and everything. What's the problem here? Thank you. Btw I also can't connect to the RasPi over SSH in Terminal. I've dowloaded a SSH but it's not working, too. Could the two problems be connected? Thanks in advance!
8. I recently received an HP Pavilion A6400f with the ASUS IPIBL-LB mobo. My brother keeps telling me to get a Mac so I thought I'd try to make a hackintosh using OSx Lion since both are from the same era. So far, all I've found are tutorials that all say "first get such and such from a previous install of OSx". If I had a previous install or access to a Mac I wouldn't need to try making a hackintosh. So, any suggestions or guidance? Hopefully, once I get OSx on, I'll be able to install Linux Mint and multiboot. RAM: 8GB HDD: 500GB Chipset: Intel G33 Video: Intel GMA 3100 On board Audio: On board ALC888S Network: Realtek 8111C On board
9. I know this all mainly about OSx86. But I wonder if you could point me in the right direction... I have a Mac that came with Mavericks preinstalled. However, I want to use Lion instead. Is there a custom build I could use on it?
10. Hello everybody, I am experiencing some very frustrating behavior from my 10.7.2 Lion Hackintosh, and I have no idea how to approach the problem... any help would be greatly appreciated. Some background information about the system: Gigabyte z68XP-UD3 Intel Core i7 - 2600k 16GB Corsair memory (2x8GB) Gigabyte HD6870 Seasonic x750 Power Unit Dell 3011 + Dell 2412 monitors connected via the two Displayports Operating System on a Intel 80GB Solid State Drive Data, including "user home" on a 2TB Seagate Hard drive Another 1TB + 500GB old hard drives used for random stuff Time Machine backups on a Hitachi 3TB drive Wireless Apple Keyboard and Trackpad connected via a Belkin Bluetooth dongle (inserted in one of the Dell 30" USB ports) Installed last spring following a tutorial found online, using ###### and then ######. The system is recognized in About this Mac as a Mac Pro, early 2008. The problem: Kernel panics. I cannot find any single common element between the different instances when it happens. Sometimes it's just one hour between two kernel panics, sometimes the computer does not have any problem for a week. Lately it seems they are becoming more frequent though, hence I decided it's time to fix this. It's not temperature related (I checked temperatures) and does not happen more often when the computer is pushed (in fact I had a kernel panic while the computer was totally idle). Can't tell if it's a software problem or a hardware problem. Have no idea how to diagnose the kp. I did try to read up on the forum but with little success. Any help would be greatly appreciated, because I now fear I might just be losing the patient (as I said, the kp seem to become more and more frequent). I am still on 10.7.2 because I was working at something very critical and I really needed to minimize down-time risks. But ideally I would like to go to Mountain Lion now... but I do not understand if it would likely help solving the KP problem or instead make it worse or more complicated to diagnose... Sorry for the noobness, it's my first OsX system and have still little capacity to troubleshoot it.
11. Ciao a tutti! Sto provando ad installare Mac OSX Lion sul mio pc, con la distro iAtkos L2. Partizionato in GUID, partizione in Mac OS esteso journaled, tutto ok. Grazie
12. Hi guys, managed it to Install Mountain Lion 10.8.3 on my PC. Just had to use the flags npci=0x2000 and PCIRootUID=1. But it does not boot after the installation (same flags as above) - it gets stuck at ACPI_SMC_Platformplugin and DSMOS does not arrive (look at screenshot). I've even tried -x etc, but it didn't work out. I've also tried to wait a bit longer, but the only thing that comes up is resettingIOCatalogue. MY Config is: Asus P6T SE Nvdia GTX 660 (non Ti) i7 920 i've used ermacs Mountain Lionizer http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?depth=1&hl=en&ie=UTF8&nv=1&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=it&tl=en&u=http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/276216-guida-usb-mountain-lion-automatizzata/&usg=ALkJrhhCHFFr6q62fAeiRvtgKGGlEyOLAg and i've chosen the smbios macPro 4,1 (because of nehalem etc etc) Maybe someone know how to help here?

Grazie anticipatamente.

19. I'm using Lenovo E320 with HD3000 integrated graphics, it's screen turns black during startup or installation. OS X 10.7.3 - 10.8.2 versions. I discovered that to replace the AppleIntelSNBGraphicsFB.kext in S/L/E by the one of Lion 10.7.0 can solve this issue. I think this solution may help in 10.8.2 and some laptop models too. I would like to know other solutions, wish you would share your experiences. More details of the above issue: Hardware: Lenovo E320, Intel i3-3250M, HM65 Express Chipset, HD3000 integrated graphics Symptom: Lion 10.7.0: both install and bootup without problem Lion 10.7.3 - M. Lion 10.8.1: 1. built-in LCD screen turns black during startup or installation. 2. if a monitor is attached with HDMI port, both built-in screen and HDMI monitor work fine all the time
MacOS 10.7.2 ASUS p6t deluxe v2 Intel i7-920 RAM - 6GB nVidia MSI GTX 275 (SLI?) Audigy 2 Platinum HDD 1,5 GB
22. Hi All! I have "no audio" problem! I have Asus P5N-E SLI mobo where audio is Realtek ALC883. Everything else is working like charm (with little fight) but no audio... Weird thing is that in System Information recognize audio (in some cases even all plugs ie.audio out. microfone, SPIFD etc..) but in Control Panel -> Sound there is no output/input devices. In BIOS audio is enabled and front panel option is AC97 (second is HDAudio). I don't have DSDT.aml and I have no idea how to make one. If anyone have any idea what to do, I would love to heard it! Using iAtkos L1 distro.
23. A week of tinkering and researching got me to this point. It's not perfect, but pretty darn close to it. Hackintosh Spec: Asus P8Z68-V Pro 1101 Intel i5 2500k OC to 4.5ghz Memory - 8GB EVGA GTX 570 HD 120GB Kingston Hyper X SSD Bios settings are left pretty much stock with the exception of AHCI and Turbo set to 45 What works: 1. Speedstep - I will explain 2. Sound 3. Video - EVGA GTX 570 HD 4. Ethernet 5. Sata 6. eSata - I will explain 7. Bluetooth 8. USB 3 - I will explain Explanation 1. Speedstep - I got this to work by using http://www.insanelym...pic=258611&st=0 and a patch DSDT found here http://tonymacx86.co...=48864&start=10. This is great and all, but eSata does not work. On the plus side you get speedstep and sleep and wake. 2. eSata - The only way I found this to work is by using a patch DSDT found here http://tonymacx86.co...t=34683&start=0 problem using this DSDT is you don't get Speedstep, Sleep and wake. If someone can some what merge to two DSDT into one this will make this build Perfect! 3. USB 3 - Installing the Kext found in ##### drops my Geekbench score by 3000 points and it makes my computer sluggish. Not sure why it does this and I couldn't find a fix for it so I opted not to install otherwise it works. Currently I'm using the patch DSDT for Speedstep as I currently don't need eSata, but I figured one you geniuses can help to combine the two. I hope this serves as a quick and dirty guide to getting most of the devices to work for similar build. Small Tidbits Geekbench score - 11564 *Update managed to figure out how to merge the two.
24. Hello everybody, I've been googling for days, but I have only been able to find similar problems on forums with non hackintosh computers with earlier versions of Lion. When trying to play a video the system freezes, sound continues to play end the mouse will move, but the system will not respond to any input and a shutdown by holding the powerbutton is the only way out. This happens to me in quicktime (including safari plugin on apples website), iTunes (video), iPhoto (also only video, rest is working fine) and the build in dvd player. VLC, as well as Final Cut Pro is working just fine. My hackintosh is close to perfect. I try to avoid quicktime, but when you stumble on an embedded video in safari, insert a dvd (autorun) or accidentally hit a video in your photo library in iPhoto this is quite annoying. I managed to get rid of the flash-player freezing problem by disabling hardware acceleration in the flash settings, it is bit laggy in full screen tough. Dell 1558 Studio Laptop 1.6 GHz Intel Core i7 6 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ATI Radeon HD 5470M 1024 MB Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74) I hope there is a solution for this Thanks
25. GUIDE Dell XPS m1530 Mac OSX Lion 10.7.2 This guide is based on my own experience installing OSX Lion. I didn’t hade any experience with hackintosh, so it might not be done the most efficient way. I got it all running in four hours. If you follow this guide, you can probably do it in less then two. My specs are: 2,10 GHz processor (shouldn’t matter) 3GB RAM (shouldn’t matter) Broadcom BCM4315 Wireless card (does matter) What doesn’ t work for me: Microphone is too faint to be called working Files you need: I also give the links to the download inside de tuturial, but for pre-downloading is this the list: ###### http://tonymacx86.bl...lion-using.html Files for /System/Library/Extensions: System:Library:Extensions.zip Files for /Extra/Extensions: :Extra.zip Kext Utility: http://cvad-mac.narod2.ru/Kext_Utility Chameleon: http://www.meklort.com/ (and click on recent builds) OSX Lion Combo Update to 10.7.3 Lets start! Step zero: Make mac with a mac If you don’t have a mac installation, we need to create one. The way I did was installing Snow Leopard first. Just get a retail version of sleopard from some site and follow http://www.insanelym...pic=223470&st=0 till you have it booted. When you have: continue with step 1. 1: Disabling speedstep Disable Speedstep in you bios. If you do not you will get random freezes. Which you do not want during an installation. To do this: 1. Press F2 right after you hit the start button 2. Go to performance settings 3. Disable speedstep 4. Do not enable it again until I say so 2: Installing Lion If you have access to a Mac installation you can use the this guide: http://tonymacx86.bl...lion-using.html. Do a clean install and after step 3 you should come back here. 3: Drivers from custom package, do NOT reboot untill i say so Copy the kexts from the System:Library:Extensions.zip download to /System/Library/Extensions Copy the extracted directory from :Extra.zip to the root of your disk. After that take look at /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist Change the string of Graphics Mode to your resolution. Also check out an other file in de /Extra directory. Open smbios.plist You might want to change the "SMmaximalclock" to your own. Eg for 2,4Ghz, make it 2400. 5: Install kext utility and chameleon Put kext utility in your application directory Run the chameleon installer Run kextutility to repair permissions, then reboot into the bios. 4: Enable speedstep Do step one again, but now you have to enable it offcourse. 5: Updating to 10.7.3 Now you should be able to install de 10.7.3 update. Use the Combo update package from the Apple site. 6: WiFi for BCM43xx If you have working WIFI now, you can skip this step. If you have a Intel wireless chip, you’re screwed. If you have a Broadcom chip do this: To make WIFI work on BCM43xx: Remove the file /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext Add the kext of IO80211Family.kext.zip instead Run KextUtility 7: Fix sleep Open a terminal and execute this command: sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0 Problem is that ethernet will not work after recovered from sleep. Better than no sleep at all. Optional: To speed up your graphics a bit: Google for “Nvidia mac driver” and install the latest version. Remove kexts which cause non fatal errors on bootup: If you start in verbose you see some errors caused by non functional kexts. You can remove the following kexts to get rid of the errors and safe some bootup time. Remove these from /System/Library/Extensions: audioAUUC.kext , applehda.kext. Run afterwards kext utility. I hope you now have a perfectly working install. Leave a reply if you don’t. Thanks to all the people who made this so easy. Edit 19 February 2012: removed ######, because it is not cool. Edit 2 april 2012: new buildbot link and other trackpad/keyboard kext.
