Multiple Updates Available

Today, Apple released multiple updates for Mac OS X including Security Update 2007-002, a Daylight Savings update, several Java updates, an update for Final Cut Pro, and a WebObjects update.

 

The Security Update 2007-002 is "is recommended for all users and improves the security of the following components:"

  • CoreServices
  • iChat
  • UserNotificationCenter
Apple's Daylight Savings Update (for Tiger only) fixes several issues with the dates which daylight savings occur on this year. Apple gives us info on the update.

The Daylight Saving Time Update for Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server addresses recent changes in the way Daylight Saving Time will be observed in the U.S. and Canada beginning in March 2007 and includes the latest time zone information for the rest of the world.

The two Java updates for Mac OS X 10.3 and Mac OS X 10.4 are a part of the fix for the Daylight Savings issue and are highly recommended. The 10.3 Java release also addresses an issue in which some Java applications might not open after installing QuickTime 7.0.4 or later and the release for 10.4 improves reliability of the SWT_AWT bridge implementation first released in the SWT Compatibility Libraries for Release 4, and is now installed as a standard part of J2SE 5.0.

 

A WebObjects update has also been released. The update is another part of the Daylight Savings issue and is recommended for all WebObjects users.

 

And finally, a Final Cut Pro update has been released. The update upgrades Final Cut Pro to version 5.1.3 and fixes several bugs.

 

All of the updates are available from Software Update.

Maybe its saying 10.4.9 will come very very soon..

It breaks the Finder in AMD Hackintoshes. Kiko says he'll hack it to fix that within the next day or so.

 

Oh, and they credited the Month of Apple Bugs guys for finding the Finder bug. Funny.

10.4.9 Mac/Hack users need to download from Apple and install with Pacifist.

 

but you knew that anyway ;-)

Hi. Just a simple FYI. I downloaded the three updates, 2007-002, Daylight savings times and java and they all work fine. Running on Intel 10.4.8 with 8.8.1 kernel

Alright, can you post some quick instructions on how to install the secruity update with Pacifist on 10.4.9? I'm on a Macbook not a Hackintosh.
  1. Open package in Pacifist
  2. Click install to disk

Funny.. sounds like the instructions from some products Made In China.. except the grammer and spelling were correct!

Security update breaks AMD. But you just have to replace the files with the original ones for your hackintosh to work again.
