Macbook Pro LED update in June?

According to ThinkSecret, Apple are looking to update their Macbook Pro range with LED-backlit displays next month:

"Apple placed its first order in mid-April looking for in excess of 100,000 15.4-inch LED backlight displays...Based on Apple's standard schedule that it has used in the past, it would allow for a three to four week window to manufacture and ship"

 

This could well coincide with the Worldwide Developer's Conference, which opens with a speech from Steve Jobs on Monday June 11th.

 

This story does seem to be a little speculative to us, but it does at least agree with a Digitimes report which is along the same lines.

 

ThinkSecret suggest that Apple are not planning to update the MacBook line until the third quarter of this year.

that actually sounds reasonable, its too late for me becuase i already have my macbook pro c2d but for those who are wanting to buy you have to wait for this update.

It seems pretty interesting, especially if you consider that Intel is trying to bring to the whole market the new Santa Rosa architecture and faster Core2Duo processors.

Looking forward, we can expect a new MacBook Pro with LED-backlit display, Santa Rosa and Core2Duo up to 2.4 ghz in June or July.

Yeah I did think that maybe they'll also implement Santa Rosa for the MBP at the same time to make it a more significant update, but that's just wishful thinking :)

I'm waiting also on the new MBP's and hopefully Santa Rosa .. I'm going to have to wait an extra month for revision B right ?

In the meantime I'm paying off all my debt at least I'm done with 1 credit card

thats a surprise. but MB update is in the 3rd quarter? ^_^ bullocks. hoping for another surprise for the MB.
