JaS OSx86 10.5.4 Client Server Intel SSE2 SSE3 released

apowerr

JaS's latest DVD comes with the following release notes:

Finally after much hard work and effort, repackaging / cutting driver to have the most stable release I could, along with months of hard work my version of OS X for Intel based systems is ready. This release features upgrading from the customize installation menu along with StageXNU (SSe2 SSe3 kernel thx everyone in xnu-chat for keeping older hardware alive with this great kernel) , NVKush (thx Diabolik) , chameleon (thx zef & Kabyl), SMBIOSResolver (thx Superhai), SMBIOS (thx iGuru) The whole range of Radeon HD Series drivers (thx netkas and lastExile). HDA drivers (thx Taruga) Along with the standard drivers usually found in other leopard install dvds. This release does not include any apps/mods to the UI. Also this is a OS X 10.5.4 Server (thx for the packages f41qu3 and SJobs) / Client installation dvd. Installation of Server will require a valid serial that I have not included. The base for this release was built with slipstream (thx Dense). DVD art by Realityiswhere.

Thanks to everyone over at irc.osx86.hu , irc.moofspeak.net , hackint0sh.org , insanelymac , and osx86scene.

Remember the point of this is to have some fun and learn a bit if we can. Also to help each other out, remember " no one left behind that can be supported" this is our motto and our creed.

JaS's releases are renowned for their high quality, and no doubt this one will continue the trend. Good luck installing everyone, I know I can't wait ;)

EDIT: Got a screenshot of the Installer options, looks very complete with a plethora of drivers. Nice work! -REVENGE

yeah, a PPF is a patch applied to the ISO.. Its quite easy, just use an app like ppf-o-matic and it'll do it all for ya..

Burn the new patched image and voila!

By the way, I had the "still waiting for root device" error on my leo4allv3 install, and by doing this it worked fine:

Step 1 - Boot up DVD (assuming you have already installed the system and are able to at least boot the DVD)

Step 2 - Open Terminal from Utilities

Step 3 - You need to copy all the ATA kexts from DVD to HDD by typing:

cp -pr /Volumes/Leo4allv3/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA* /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions/

Replace Leo4allv3 with the name of your install dvd and replace MacHD with the name of your hard drive volume.

Step 4 - set the permissions for those copied kexts:

chown -R root:wheel /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA*
chmod -R 755 /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions/*ATA*

Replace MacHD with the name of your hard drive volume.

Step 5 - Remove the kextcache:

rm -rf /Volumes/MacHD/System/Library/Extensions.*

Replace MacHD with the name of your drive volume.

Step 6 - Reboot with -f boot blag to force reloading of kexts..

Worked for me

wow, thanks Scorpio :D:thumbsup_anim:

You have absolutely no right to say something like that. JaS has done so much for this community and in his time of need we need to all help him. After saying that how can you respect yourself. And that was the censored version.

First let me say no one needs to donate any money to for any reason other then they want to help me out.

I will continue to do what I do, if it happens my internet goes down I will resume it when I can.

What is any different about me asking users for support, then them asking me for tech support constantly on line in pms and on irc and emails ? life is about helping each other out when help is needed.

I have spent tons of hours out of my life doing this and if anyone doesn't respect that then that is okay with me, move on.

As for respect, everyone is entitled to his / her opinion.

My situation is what it is and anyone wanting to help me out is free to do so, if not that is fine also.

Also all those versions have donations pages. I will only ask for help when I need it.

Like I said think what you want the ppl that know me know I wouldn't ask for help unless i needed it.

now you have said what you wanted to lets not turn this into a flame war.

So now please lets get this topic back on track. Keep posting success or failure so I can work out the kinks.

for me,

Well maybe not everyone has a good match for hardware. Also I sent you a personal message, hope you can read it and understand my situation. Altho I don't own you any explanation , and it's hard enough for me to ask ppl for help. I wanted to say some things to you anyway.

Edit: I am glad it worked for you, enjoy :)

About server if you have a valid serial it will work just fine.

Wow, this is awesome. It's been awhile since I played w/ osx86 (and last time it was a JaS release as well and the only one I could get working at the time on my AMD desktop). I am looking forward to putting this on my Dell laptop now. Keep up the good work and I hope everything works out for ya. :)

edit: oh gawd! I just realized my signature is OOOOOLLLLDDD! haha. will need to update that with the new puter I'm trying :P

One quick question,

Someone said this release could be installed on an AMD machine with the XNU kernel, but was that just a fluke or is this a valid AMD install.

Nice job JaS and keep up all of the good work.

PS: 4 out of the 5 valedictorians recommend the macbook, I'm the 1 that recommends the hackbook XD. Long live OSX86

Dear pcharles25,

YOU NUMBSKULL, the most pointless comment i've seen here is yours. Good job on donating in the end, next time try to speak less and do more. If you don't want to donate than don't. You shouldn't say anything otherwise to the guy that about 1,5 years ago made a DVD version of 10.4 working, he's moved to 10.5 and most likely hell temper with 20 if he has to so pleeease look around and then talk. Jas, does the release work on FSC Esprimo V5515 with a Sis chipset 672 and a 968 SB? It worked great on an Asrock 4CoreDual-SATA2 after i added the Stevo patch which you might take into consideration for the ppf. It worked on the Gigabite X38-DQ6, and even played call of duty 2, with my 8800gt! Please help me with the Fujitsu Esprimo laptop!! PLEASE! I apreciate all the help. Best wishes from Romania!

Good luck at the Olympics to all nations!

I don't need any help JaS, but I just wanted to thank you for all of the wonderful releases you create. I've been using them since day one and have had very few problems with them. You're a true master at what you do and there are a lot of faithful followers who feel the same as I do. Thanks again

Please guys no fighting, he spoke his mind and we talked about it. No harm no foul. As for the stevo patch I would love to include any support that you all feel I should.

I want to say thanks again to pcharles25 for the support, along with the other ppl that are helping me out. Also on another note AMD support is in the last phase of testing, bhast2 I and modbin have worked out a solution that will minimize the space needed to make AMD available in the installer for both client and Server.

Good times,

JaS

Go Olympics

PM me the exact system information along with device ids, if anything after this ppf is done we can do some specialized ppf for sis.

Right at the beginning of installation i get this:

2uji438.jpg

I tried installing the Client version as i don't need the Server features, tried it 3 times with different kernels and various install options and formatted my hard drive 3 times, but i still get this screen. My BIOS settings should be fine because i haven't changed anything since successfully installing Kalyway 10.5.2, Leo4All v3, and the new iDeneb 10.5.4...

Maybe the img could be corrupted? Can anyone suggest any free windows app for verifying the MD5 checksum plz?

I am also getting the same error when I try to install on an ASUS P5KR.

Does this has something to do with the mobo?
