iPhone 1.1.1 Bug Lets you Stream Music to Bluetooth Headset

Today AppleInsider discovered that a bug in the recently released iPhone Software 1.1.1 allows you to stream music to your Bluetooth Wireless headset. The glitch starts from the software's Visual Voicemail audio source feature, which lets users choose whether they would like to play back their voicemail messages via the iPhone's earpiece, speaker, or wirelessly connected Bluetooth headset. For some reason, version 1.1.1 of the iPhone software released this week fails to disconnect the wireless audio stream from Bluetooth headsets when a user leaves Visual Voicemail. It will instead continue to stream all of the phone's audio which includes keyboard clicks, shutter sounds, and music tracks to the wireless headsets. Try this out and tell us if it works!

A Bluetooth headset, beside, you should be happy that this is not on MacRumors...

Wow. This "bug" has been out since the iPhone's release. Old News? Nah, not really. Just good to know that it still works in 1.1.1 :P

Apple: "That's not a bug, its a feature!"

Why is this so special, anyway?

The LG-VX8500 Chocolate (my personal phone) can do this no problem as part of intended, normal function.

I just downgraded my Firmware from 1.1.1 to 1.0.2 to get the 3rd party apps back, the iTunes Music store is useless to me and i dont really care about tv out and the other minor updates.....

Um, my "Free-after-rebate-with-new-plan" Samsung SYNC, as well as the $100 RAZR V3xx, can both do this, bug-free, as part of their standard feature set. Glad to know when you buy an iPhone, you're paying $500 to *give up* features. Ones that you'd think should be rather important for a music player, no less. Bravo Apple.
