Here are mine:

1) AdBlock Plus - Blocks out banner ads and every other type of ad you can think of

2) McAffee SiteAdvisor - Keeps you away from dangerous sites

3) Download Statusbar - Displays a little bar at the bottom of your windows with download progress and info

4) Web Developer Toolbar - Toolbar with a whole ton of web developer functions (CSS, Javascript, Validation, Resizing, etc.)

And thats it for now :(

Mine's are:

1) AdBlock Plus - God's gift from heaven. ;)

2) Foxmarks 2 - Synchronizes my bookmarks over multiple operating systems.

3) FireFTP - To securely connect to my FTP server with SSL encryption.

That is pretty much it for me. :(

*Side Note: I couldn't imagine browsing the internet anymore without these wonderful tools.

These are the ones I use:

- Fasterfox: http://fasterfox.mozdev.org/

- FireTune: http://www.totalidea.com/content/firetune/...tune-index.html

- Tab Mix Plus: http://www.download.com/Best-extensions-fo...html?tag=bubble

- Download Statusbar: (same as above)

- IE Tab: (same as above)

- Mouse Gestures: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/39

- Stylish: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108

- NoScript: http://noscript.net/

- Adblock Plus: http://adblockplus.org/en/

- Same Origin Policy: http://crypto.stanford.edu/sameorigin/

- Foxmarks: http://www.foxmarks.com/ (I don't think this is an add-on but it's very useful)

Fasterfox and FireTune are browser optimizers and tweakers. Tab Mix Plus is a tab enhancer/manager. Download Statusbar just makes downloading lots of things much easier. IE Tab is for those pesky sites that only work well in IE. Mouse Gestures can save you from a lot of repetitive clicking. Stylish is, well, stylish. NoScript blocks all unallowed scripts, which can be annoying at times, but it makes Firefox virtually impenetrable, and when combined with Adblock Plus, spyware is almost a thing of the past. Same Origin Policy provides some additional surfing privacy/security. Foxmarks is a great bookmark synchronizer, so no more manually updating/synching bookmarks between all my PCs.

I found a REALLY handy app for Firefox fairly recently, though it has been out for awhile now. It's called Firefox Ultimate Optimizer, and while it's technically not an add-on per-se, it greatly reduces Firefox's memory footprint, so Firefox no longer becomes a huge memory hog when you're browsing tens of tabs etc. It's a definite must-have for any Firefox user.

Brief article and download here: http://firefox-ultimate-optimizer.en.softonic.com/

Homepage here: http://www.felipex.net/

Note: The homepage as well as the usual download links are currently unavailable, so here is a Rapidshare link:

Do you know if the addon works with Firefox 3.0b5?

Apparently it does. I just installed Firefox b5, (in fact, I'm writing this post using Firefox b5) and from the Task Manager, firefox.exe immediately goes from 38M to around 200K. That's just fantastic, though I am slightly puzzled as to where all the memory goes, but it matters not, cuz' now Firefox is a lean, mean, browsing machine, unlike it was before, in which case it should have been called "Firehog", (picture little flaming piggies chomping on your RAM, saying, "Mmm-mm, tasty, could use a little more "cache" though".) ;)

Some of the ones mentioned above and also:

  • British English Dictionary - why didn't anyone come up with this sooner!!!
  • Clean and Close - so many hours saved
  • PicLens - absolutely AMAZING, also available on Safari and IE
  • Gmail Space - don't like this too much because of the way it makes Gmail look cluttered

Firefox 3 completely PWNS any other browser I have ever seen, including Safari. Firefox has way better extensions support and if you like the Safari look, there is a theme for Firefox that makes it an exact 1:1 replica with Safari, except you still have all the goodies of Firefox.
