.DewMan
Hi all, im new here, i seen somewhere that this will work on AMD processors.. Is that right? I think i seen that it had to be SSE3 campatible or something. I am new to the mac stuff but def. want to try it out. I dont know much about internal harware, except how to install them, etc. Here is my CPU specs: Can someone tell me if I can run mac, and which torrent do i need, there are so many. inedible
your processor supports SSE3. you can run almost any version. I don't believe you can run the vanilla kernel though, so make sure you don't select that in the options when you're installing. Software Updater
Kernel Attack or Kernel Panic are both the same thing. Boot up in -v and tell us what it says. habib
it works on AMD good. But you have to use other release - look at Zephyroth 10.5.2 AMD EFI on torrents. cgsheen
The actual answer to your original question is: It works very well on SOME AMD hardware and fairly poorly to not-at-all on other AMD hardware. Depends on what you've got - and you've never said what you've got... howarchaic
I'm almost all but up and running on my AMD system, its just running slow. What motherboard do you have? Thats gonna have more to do with if you can run it than your processor alone... Here are my specs:http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documen...228&lang=en It's going to be really tough for you: Radeon XPress x200 chipset... You'll never get the video working properly even if your other hardware actually works correctly. (I've tried 10-15 times with my Compaq V2312us (x200 chipset) lpatop and haven't had a fully successful install with either 10.5.1 or 10.5.2...) I'm almost all but up and running on my AMD system, its just running slow. What motherboard do you have? Thats gonna have more to do with if you can run it than your processor alone... Bingo. It's not usually so much the processor as the support chipsets they use. Some work, some don't. OSX wasn't built to run on AMD CPU's at all. PLUS - real Macs use (actually support) a very small part of the available Intel hardware set (vs. what's available for PC users). hey
Yeah, that is not good news. I will give it a try anyways and fill you in on how it went. I really appreciate your help! Also, is this for the Zephyroth install only? Will another build be a better choice for my PC?
