BaselineAce
I have a really crappy motherboard with 5 PCI-X slots, and only 1 PCI slot, with no AGP or PCI Express slots. Are there any known PCI VESA 3.0 graphics cards that work with QE/CI?
jbjonas
What's the difference between PCI-X and PCI Express? I always thought they were the same... Then again the last time I bought a mobo was over 2 years ago. Someone please clarify?

regularg0nz0
I had an old Jaton nVidia Riva TNT2 32 meg that was recognized as VESA 3.0. I'd imagine that there are PCI versions of this old standby floating around. I didn't try any of my old Trident chipset cards, but I guess I should have, huh? Maybe if I find an hour tonight I'll try slapping some of those old-timers in my box and see what happens. But no promises. Just did a quick eBay search on "TNT2 PCI". You should be able to get something for ~$20 USD shipped. Avoid the 16 meg models.
BaselineAce
Yeah, I've been looking for a 128MB model that will support QE, so hopefully I can come up with something. Thanks for your help. Back to eBay...

Are there any known PCI VESA 3.0 graphics cards that work with QE/CI? What motherboard has 5 PCI-X slots? The PNY 5200 PCI is working great in my Dell with full quartz and core support. trav1085
I use an nVidia GeForce FX 5500 256MB, with DirectX 9 and OpenGL 1.5. It works great on my system, runs games actually pretty well. You have all the effects in OSx86 with some drivers. QE/CI can only fully be enabled with a certain installer and only works on Jas's new 10.4.8/8.8.1 DVD (I have tried with 10.4.4 and QE didn't work). It's $130 at Staples. snobrd4life
I have a 128 Mb Nvidia Gefore FX 5200 PCI card and it works with QE/CI with with the TEST1 DVD and the patch in my sig. But my xbench scores are mediocre at best... I repeatedly get a 9.7 in linear or sumthing.....
