yamcha
Hi guys I've just downloaded Limewire, and before I start downloading junk should I worry about viruses on an OSX leopard?? I've had issues in XP with it so I stopped using LW a long time ago, but does it apply to OSX aswell? or I shouldn't worry about it at all? Help is appreciated! carfalkar
Use frostwire instead of limewire.
burninator04
You need to use some some of bittorrent client. I use transmission that's built into Leopard, but bit rocket is pretty sweet. If you can get into some private trackers, it's way safer and faster. I just assume that if people can hack OS X, they can write viruses for it just as easy. So I only download stuff I know is safe. Wayfarer247
Kinda unrelated, but I had a friend who downloaded viruses onto his linux computer and TRIED to make them work. Didn't happen. And because both are Unix, I think you safe. Besides, who would target one mac when you could hit a million Windows computers?

vaporATX
Unless the you give a virus your admin password it's not going to be able to do much.

Mebster
Use frostwire instead of limewire.I've heard people say that, why? Viruses on OSX pshhhhhThe other day I saw someone with a MacBook Pro go back to the department store they purchased it for seeking help with it. It seems there was a virus related to MSN Messenger. I didn't see it or anything but I heard there was a message somewhere in MSN Messenger saying something or another. So it seems Macs can and do get hit by viruses. It's just ironic it turned out it happened to be related to MSn messenger.

Dellius
Looks like we come to the conclusion that the only way to have your Mac infected with a virus is to put Windows on it. LoL !
vaporATX
Hey, I like windows. It basically prints money for consultants like me. If it wasn't such a pos in need of constant support I probably wouldn't be retired at 40. Thanks, Microsoft. When I asked a colleague what he thought of idiots planing Vista roll-outs he replied...
