I just get the loading screen for ages.. then when the loading symbol freezes and looks like its going to go into the GUI the screen flashes grey and then sticks at the loading screen... I have tried all your updates and everyone has done this ... -V doesnt help because it randomly changes everytime I use it and most of the time the pc just restarts before i even get to see the last line.. my graphics card is a 8600GTS 512mb I chose the right memory and everything :S I cant understand why graphics wont work for me! Mysticus C* Posted March 14, 2008 Author Share Posted March 14, 2008 @jvox: you need to download kalyway 10.5.2 update!!! not the 10.5.1 kalyway install disk.... you downloaded wrong stuff.... @jade ray: you either forgot bootloader, or your bios is not set to boot from that ide hdd or most likely your ide hdd is a bit bad one and doesnt like bootloader, it happens time to time... some hdds dont like os x bootloader... try your sata hdd instead... @urgon: you dont have the same mobo as i do! did you update to 10.5.2? if not it is a high chance that it wont work until you update to 10.5.2... Latest Gfx drivers added in addition to original 1.0 update, nvinject for laptops added, and some minor changes added for cosmetics... here is the new installer link Guide is same as above with one file name change 1-) download kalyway 10.5.2 update 2-) download my update 3-) place both kalyway and my update on the desktop 4-) unpack my zip file to a folder on the desktop 5-) check the contents of the update folder... you should see many pkg files... 6-) you will only need a file named "10.5.2 Full Graphics Update with Extras.mpkg" in that folder 7-) now run the kalyway update first 8-) kalyway finished? dont restart yet 9-) now run my 10.5.2 Full Graphics Update with Extras.mpkg 10-) choose continue, choose partition, click customize and make sure you choose the right stuffs in customize window 11-) as suggestions to what to choose for nforce read below: + 1.0 Gfx update + nvidia card? choose correct nvinject memory + some drivers? dont choose anytg unless u have specific need like 440x driver? or ati card? or sata dvd not mounting? and understand that some of these are test drivers... + kernel? netkas 9.2.0 sleep would be nice choice, but up to you... + some programs? well nice to have them if you dont know how to replace kernel or install kexts... 12-) now finished customize and installed? everything done? u can restart! now! dont do anything else... no fix is needed.... 13-) wait patiently, as it will restart once again before gui screen 14-) now if u did everything correctly it should go to gui... good luck and report back test results pls.... Mysticus, I cannot thank you enough for this release. The netkas kernel + the nForce SATA driver solved my two of my three remaining problems, sleep and my SATA DVD drive not mounting, respectively. Now if only I could speed up my boot time! But, putting things in perspective, that is a really minor complaint. No customize button came up. Is this correct? I chose 10.5.2 Full Graphics Update with Extras.mpkg Also as I said, There is no NVDAResman.kext in my system. After editing the other file. How do I complete the process? What is command to hit until it says finished? EDIT: Nevermind, I figured out what I needed to do. I unzipped the build1 after putting it on the desktop instead of doing it before I put it on my USB drive. Solved the customize issue. After doing the updates, It won't boot. This error stood out to me: localhost DumpPanic[45]: error geting a reference to IODeviceTree:/options Last line is: IOKitWaitQuiet() timed out waiting to write kernel symbols Not using boot flag -v, I get the "you must reboot your computer...hold power button down severl seconds" screen. Any ideas? I also didn't get the 9600GT working. I may need to put the 8600GT back in. Mysticus C* Posted March 14, 2008 Author Share Posted March 14, 2008 @to all: I added Kalyway 10.5.2 Update download path to the guide on post #525 @zonker: You are a bit hyper? you keep posting wrong information every 5 mins, Please read everything properly, and try to do while reading bcoz you will skip some steps...... just read the guides first, understand what it says, only than you will able to do it... @meecrob: you are on the wrong topic, you have intel chipset, and asking help on nforce chipset... @av9: good luck mate, glad it helped... and thanx for following instructions properly... many people dont... @vash: it s same kernel, yes,(note: #92 was speedstep kernel sorry, this is not speedstep!, this is sleep kernel, but i dont know on how many nforce chipsets it works well) so i made this package so that people would ask less questions, apparently some people never reads carefully... and dont be lazy, the entire package is combined with meta package (wrapping each invidual installer under one installer, but doesnt store pkgs in it), meaning that if you get the entire package, you will actually get each individual installers inside the folder as well... so you can run whatever you like instead of full installer... each file is named properly so you can find them easily... When I waited until it was on the desktop to expand it, it worked fine. . . those errors are normal, and doesnt cause system to restart, it must be something else... do you wait long enough after iokit error? (bcoz iokit error is caused by ata drivers, and takes about 45-50 secs delay for the boot all together)... but eventually it goes to gui, after 40 secs after iokit delay.... you have some other problem... and you are not able to provide me screen cap, it is hard for me help you... Hopefully this info will help determine what is happening. is your hdd connected to usb ? and do you wait long enough after iokit error? bcoz after iokit, it loads gui in about 30 secs.. also most importantly, what nvinject value are you using? and which card? bcoz u have one 256 mb card and one 512 mb card... I dont understand what you are really doing...
