..TheOne..
Today, after a few months using Leopard as my main OS, having it in a triple boot system with XP and Ubuntu Hardy, I'm formatting my hard drive and making probably only one partition. The fact is that after more than a year being an active user of both Ubuntu and Mac OS, I've reached to a point where I can say that non of these three OSs satisfy me. When using one of them, I miss things from the other ones. It's true that I have not experienced a full featured OSX due to the lack of QE/CI, and other Hackintosh related trouble, so I still hope that when I own a real mac this will be more pleasent. But that's it... I still dont know what OS I will install, but I wanted to share my toughts on this. Anyway, I still will be around here to help, and to be updated with anything new that happens... I wonder if some of you have that "unsatisfied" feeling after having mastered the use of existing OSs? DuperMan
@...TheOne... Os X really isn't it's true self without qe/ci - the hardware accelerated features are not "eye candy" per se' as important stuff just won't run without it. My advice is to install it on your desktop to get a feel for it, and maybe help out resolving qe/ci on our lappies:) @wyzazz Thanks, registered (free, basic membership) to ADC and downloaded xcode 3 (also free, to ADC members) - can't make any promises as to when i'll master it and them ddk's though:) don't hold your breath... @DuperMan you n00b! @AmericanYellow Seriously dude, how smooth/usable is your mates' leopard experience? I'm sure I was TheOne that told you about XCode... I might be wrong anyway... lol I've watched some demonstrations of the use of XCode and something called "InterfaceMaker" at Stevie's last keynote and it seemed pretty simple to use. Well, it only showed that frontend/GUI part of developing software... the hard work will be to learn how to code it all. I've been curious to do it as well... maybe when I have some spare time... Good luck, and happy developement! DuperMan
@...TheOne... My bad:) And yeah... a GUI for making GUI's won't be a great help in hacking drivers;) I'm pretty much where you stand, but my pool is set and i'm taking the dive into code Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87077-hp-tx1000z-tablet-compatibility-with-leopard/page/25/#findComment-793804 Share on other sites

I'm on a TX2000 and the only thing not working is my wireless (broadcom 802.11 b/g) and QE so still waiting for that oh and I'm also Dual Booting XP Tablet + Media Center with OS X on a 10 GB partition just for playing around with it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87077-hp-tx1000z-tablet-compatibility-with-leopard/page/25/#findComment-797033 Share on other sites

El Massman
hey guys, i hate to sound like a negative nancy and all but thinking about it, assuming these ATI drivers somehow do work on and nVidia card, which is hard enough to believe as it is, what about the fact that that they aren't unibin? i've been around the scene for quite a while now and one of the problems i remember with 10.4.4 was that some drivers supplied with the OS couldn't be hacked due to being PPC. the ATI drivers from the website, which are apparently the ones we need? are PPC only. not to mention that the 9800 is again a card with discreet memory so not aiding in any way with the problem at hand. so does it honestly seem that we could get something cross platform and cross architecture to work where none of the obvious methods have before? i've heard of thinking outside the box but this honestly just seems crazy. @americanyellow, how stable would you say this set up is? have you actually had time to have a go on the system? considering the three points mentioned above, i can't see it being anything other than shaky to say the least. regards, Marc Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/87077-hp-tx1000z-tablet-compatibility-with-leopard/page/25/#findComment-798752 Share on other sites
DuperMan
Yeah... As much as I hate being a wet blanket, being beaten to the post is somehow worst:) You implied it Mass-Face! P.S Gonna be out for a while again... Got myself two new toys: 1. My two year old desktop ±730$ PC is now a mac, though it crashes every heavy round of Kane's Wrath;) 2. A 500Gb WD MyBookWorld.. it's running Debian and seems like the "My First Server" kit I've always wanted! Cheers all, I'll be checking in every once in a while and of course helping where no one more responsive can. the_29
Strange that ppl who want to help never have time for anything! (even not for giving a link to a file..) And i am always in a pay tv forum and there are also many ppl just talking {censored}, like they can watch everything free, etc.. So i hope that American Yellow and his friends dont lie, but there are many impostors outside.. Anyway, somebody upgraded his Leo4Allv2 installation to 10.5.4? Dojomann
Hey guys, I'm trying to downgrade my tx2110ca (tx2000z pre-configured model) to f.04, but the flashing utility spits this message out at me: "The Current system BIOS is the same version (or newer) than the version you are trying to flash, so the BIOS will not be changed." Any way of getting around this and forcing the downgrade? I'd be totally content thus far with the state of affairs of my mac OS X install if I had sound. After that we just have to get QE/CI working, fix all the funky boot issues, calibrate the touch screen, and get the webcam working. Oh, and probably get the volume control buttons going properly. If that all happened it would make the tx2000 the most awesome mac tablet ever. *sigh* one can dream. EDIT: also, I'd love to have a non-verbose mode at boot. How do I do that? the_29
@ginosih: Doo.. i Forgot to upload my new package with the both sound files! But do you have downgraded your bios already? @Dojomann: You have to change the com.apple.Boot.plist file or sth! Search in this thread or in forum after this name. There are the boot options. Dojomann
Bumping the topic, someone must know how to downgrade an HP bios manually.. People in this thread seem to have done it already. I need to downgrade my HP tx2000 bios to f.04, and as I mentioned on the previous page the flashing utility won't let me saying my bios is newer and it won't flash.
