Ok, so i was playing around and found this

Applications -> Utilities -> Audio MIDI Setup

Go to Properties For -> AC97 Audio (PCM)

There should be two, one is input, the other is output

the output is what we want

Now...

Theoretically the problem with higher pitch is due to a Hz imbalance..

and right there on the right, we have the frequency

It seems to be too low...

Change it to 48000hz

That fixed it for me

Hope it works

Good luck

Just in case anyone can help me on this, I only have an input on the audio midi setup, there is no output (Although I am able to play music almost flawlessly, I just checked a movie and it was all crackly). I was also wondering if anyone knew how to properly install a midi driver so that you could play a keyboard in garageband. Please I am new to this so if I am doing something wrong please correct me. Thanks for your time.

Hey,

I have been patiently searching before asking this now. I still have chipmunks in my hack. Audio input and output work (onboard ac97) but the output is still high pitched. In my case, changing the sampling frequency does not make a difference!!

Any Ideas? Anyone still having that problem?

Thanks.
