Cosmin Petre
Hi all, I've searched through these forums and I can't seem to find a definitive answer. I've read a few posts that suggest the CS3 apps work with patching but InDesign still has problems. Can somebody please shed a little light on this? If you have got it to work please can you explain how? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84429-indesign-cs3-working-on-leopard-osx86/ Share on other sites

Cosmin Petre
Thanks Serph, From what I've read it seems that Photoshop and illustrator seem to work but there are some problems with InDesign CS3. Your feedback is greatly appreciated - let me know how you get on... cos/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84429-indesign-cs3-working-on-leopard-osx86/#findComment-603793 Share on other sites
Serphi
Tried to run the Setup, it goes to that darkgray initialiser thingy, but further it won't do anything.. So I dunno x.x; This problem I didn't have with Photoshop CS3 standalone install. agrafuese
Haven't installed indesign, but all the other apps from CS3 Design Premium work fine for me. Are you guys using the proper AppleSMBIOS.kext from here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=446877 ? I'm assuming you did, since *some* of your apps are working, but thought I'd give it a shot just in case you didn't do it. Did you do anything different on installation? radov4n
Really?? Can you give me an idea of your setup? Did you do anything different on installation? No nothing different. P5K vanilla motherboard (ICH9 one) with 603 BIOS, 2GB DDR800 RAM, using IDE mode (not AHCI) in BIOS, 8800 GTX, using first 3 sata ports, 74GB raptor, 750GB WD and dvd-rw. OS X installed on 74GB raptor in GUID/EFI mode (Kaly, vanilla kernel + fix). Onboard LAN is not working, using cheap Realtek pci card. Creative Suite 3 Deisgn Premium (2.53gb dmg) install (I am using legal #, but I think there's a bunch of serial # floating around for this package). Every single thing in the CS3 is working fine, dead stable. I mostly use Flash and InDesign. I really need a functioning InDesign on my machine, so your experience is promising I ordered the parts for my machine last week so I'll be able to try it for real next week. I have P5W DH Deluxe and a eVGA eGeForce 8600GTS. I was intending on using Kalyway method to install and using AHCI in BIOS (I'm a newb with PCs so I don't really understand what this means-but it seems to be recommended). What are the benefits of setting to IDE mode? I only have 1 SATA 250gb drive. Thanks again for your time Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84429-indesign-cs3-working-on-leopard-osx86/#findComment-607216 Share on other sites

Ok, on my P5K (it's a P35 based mobo) it's basically this: when I am running in AHCI (406 BIOS) mode, two of my SATA ports are not working, but 4GB memory works fine. When I switch to IDE mode, all my SATA are working, but if I put more than 3.2GB (using maxmem switch) I keep getting kernel panics. It has something to do with 10.5 and ICH9/ICH9R.. there was a whole thread on this. If your mobo uses ICH9/ICH9R but you are running only one SATA, keep AHCI, there should be no problem. Let me know how it goes. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/84429-indesign-cs3-working-on-leopard-osx86/#findComment-607381 Share on other sites
