TequilaKez
Hey guys, great work here btw. I wish I had the knowhow to sift thru the DSDT manually but alas it is beyond me. Defender666 / Einstein can you guys please confirm you can boot without the AC power, that you are using vanilla X3100 kexts and the display is not corrupted after waking from sleep. I can handle no ethernet and the occasional kp from voodooBattery but these two issues really have me beat. I've read thru this thread a few times now and I can't work out if these are currently 'known issues' or whether I have missed something. I have 10.6.2 booting fine with AC power in and gfx is fine until sleep after which it becomes grey and pink abstract art. Other times I have come back to it after a while and the display is corrupted in a way that looks like half horizontal resolution. TequilaKez
Same thing if I change resolutions. The display is fine from boot, but after changing res, or waking from sleep, the display is corrupted. Anyone have any ideas? Updated to 10.6.3 and using your dsdt I am still getting corrupted display and not able to boot without AC plugged in (hangs at IOPIC). Strangely enough, it will hang there indefinatley but if i plug the ac in at this point, instantly the boot continues. Did I read somewhere that some of you guys upgraded your lcd? Defender666
Sorry for late reply, I'm not watching this forum so often. I had this issue in the very beginning. My display is 1680x1050 (stock / original). If I remember, to fix this issue use smbios.plist from Macbook Air with real serial it trigers something in the drivers...,not the one from Mac Book Pro I guess you have no smbios.plist at all, or some smbios with Hewlet Packard 6710b blabla in it?? HDMI?? I don't have HDMI. I have LAN working fine there is a new patched driver for 10.6.3 but also working 10.6.2 Tips: Clean install. Latest cameleon. 32bit. Update to 10.6.2 Use native Driver! Don't use NullCpuPowermanagement or sleep enabler. Use latest dsdt from this thread, it will give you real sleep and powermanagement . If this works you can try 10.6.3. or 10.6.4 they have new x3100 drivers i don't know anymore which version i used then. Concerning the video, i cannot watch it, it says it is private. fripp
Hi guys, congrats for the nice work here. Booting with the DSDTs provided by Einstein_ein/defender666 i get a desktop divided in 4 parts. Perhaps it is because my dislpay has a 1280x800 resolution. Using the smbios.plist from Mac Book Air does not help. This happens in both Leopard and Snow Leopard. Is there a way to fix that? Defender666
Sorry i don't know of such problems. Have you tried old 10.5 Kext from Graphics Update package. The should also work. Defender666
I recently installed a 6710b of a friend and we noticed that his bios was very old. So all people with problems pleas try Bios Version F15 or F16. Older Bios might not be compatible with the DSDT File here. Einstein did you find any solution for: Mirror and Backlight Issue?? derpuma
Can anybody show me a solution for a working speedstep with my T7500 C2D M CPU. I tried the legacy Speed Step Kext from here LINK which is not working. Using NullCPUPowerManagement.kext does not do a good job too! I would like to see a DSDT Fix for the T7500 CPU, nut I do not have any idea how to fix it. Any help? Try following the entire instructions HERE (w/o dsdt part there) and the legacy for the appropriate 10.6.X you are running in same thread, then if your bios (DSDT) its ready (p-states and c-states) should works. If not, additionally install Chameleon 2RC5 pkg 518 (signature) if you dont have a good dsdt, so chameleon will generate p and c states for you... Good Luck. Defender666
use voodoops2 and trackpad kext. use a different wirless card from ebay. You can change your original card. It only costs ~15€ For those with screen problems. Also had issues on one 6710b (installed my 4th device now). It is all about injecting proper EDID Info. Use the following guide and get full working display: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=208410 @Einstein_ein You used MacPro smbios.plist doing this gives working FAN after sleep but breaks Coolbook support. Using my dsdt (included some of your removed methods) fan works also well with macbook pro smbio.plist and it also gives you coolbook support. The only drawback is that FAN works after sleep like if it is on battery (FAN off, then only cools when getting to hot) but i prefer this behavior. dsdt.aml.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/76288-guide-leopard-on-hp-compaq-6710b-with-efi_v80-wireless-graphics-sound/page/5/#findComment-1553900 Share on other sites
Aiden Cott
I'm having the same problem as TequilaKez with the screen going crazy. I would really like to fix this and use the DSDT because it sounds like it will fix allot of things on my laptop. My default resolution is 1280x800. As of yet I've tried multiple SMBIOSes, replacing the kexts in my Extra folder with different versions, upgrading my bios and still the same problem. I've had a look at injecting the EDID tags but I really couldn't understand it (Is a noob). If somebody could provide me with their EDID files or give me a clearer tutorial I would love to try that. Thanks guys!
