Bonkey
To All: I'm setting up a Wiki page to support this thread. The main purpose of the wiki page will be to combine all the known issues and solutions that where found and view them in a wiki portal instead of going trough the 60+ pages in this thread. The community will stay here, to discuss problems, and work on better solutions. As soon as a working solution is found it will be posted on the wiki page. komeet
I had no luck to install it on my laptop. Even VMware did not work. I guess the problem is my sata drive on nforce 430/410 chipset. @zephyroth, it is possible to add the new MeDevil sata driver in your next release? The new driver is discussed here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=77071 Thank you very much... Trax
TRAX - once the installer hangs at 1 min left, just reboot back into the dvd and install again the same way (dont format drive, relabel or anything), dont go to disk utility at all. Basically just install.. This time it will finish installing successfully and quicker as it will just install the files left to install Zeph - can we get a PPF patch for rev2? and is there anyway i can just copy paste the files onto my leopard partition from my windows installation using macdrive? Thanks. Will Try. To All: I'm setting up a Wiki page to support this thread. Svein_Jarle
First off, pardon my bad english - it is not my native language. Have some problems I wonder if you could help me with. Downloaded the image, burned it to a dvd and booted it up. Took a clean install - partitioned the drive and installed a fresh XP Pro on the smaller drive. The big partition was formatted as HFS+ and I installed Leopard on it. No problems during installation. Rebooted, and I was welcomed by a beautiful Darwin boot selection screen. I am familiar with this, as I have had 10.4.10 installed on the same computer for the past six months. The reason for my upgrade was not that I so desperately wanted Leopard - no, I had problems with 10.4.10 freezing on random occations. It just would stop. Everything locked up, all of a sudden, and it happened at least once a day. It can be mentioned that it is not a hardware issue - Windows XP, Vista and Ubuntu linux works flawlessly regarding to lock-ups. There were never a trace in the Console that could explain the lock-ups. To boot the fresh Leopard-installation, I had to remove the GeForce kexts. Same procedure as during the installation of 10.4.10. It booted up, and it was beautiful, and much snappier than 10.4.10! But then the problems started... 1. The interface language is english, in spite of my change in both the system preferences (international panel), and during the installation. 2. The system preferences unexpectedly quits when trying to launch International. (It worked until I messed around with the languages). ---If the solution is to extract the language files from the original Leopard DVD, just let me know where they are, and where to put them. I have actually purchased a five license box for the households MacBook Pro's. 3. THE LOCK-UPS ARE STILL THERE!!! - and they occur even ofter than before. I can't go to a single webpage without it freezing. The GeForce kexts has been removed, and NvInject is present. The lock-ups occored before I installed it. Hope you can help! My system: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe (Bios 1016) AMD X2 3800+ (2,0ghz - In "about this mac": "Unknown") 2gb (4x512mb) PC3200 RAM (clocked at PC2700/333MHz) Gainward GeForce 7900gt 256mb Leopard is installed at a ATA-drive UPDATE: Now everything works perfectly, except that I had to disable one core... Waiting for that rev B Had to install the norwegian language pack to get things in order.
