me_ankit
Wow, that's a lot of stuff.. Please do include an installer for Soundmax Onbaord AD1986A audio (Azalia Installer Works), it works for a lot of amd audio chipsets. PS: the azalia audio installer on jas 10.4.8 dosent work... .. the one on uphuck 1.3 and the one posted on the forums around here work. It would also be very helpful to include (an installer if possible) for the kexts related to the guide on page 12 of this topic. posted by Hexidecimal.. along with the related leo_vid_kexts(with natit) files.. It works for a lot of people. Also as you mentioned . EFI V8, Kernel 9.0.0 SSE2/SSE3, Kernel 9.1.0 SSE3 only Is the Kernel 9.1.0 SSE3 a new addition?? Can you please also tell me if there is any advantage of EFI on AMD systems?? Thanks for the great release. zephyroth
The kernel 9.0.0 SSE2/SSE3 is new. (this is the one I thought I put in the first release ... ). The kernel 9.1.0 SSE3 is the actual kernel but it will be your choice to install it or not according to your cpu. The advantage of EFI is to get closer to a real mac and as you can see only one essential kext is modified (AppleSMBios) all the others (except drivers) are original (AppleACPIPlatform, IOACPIFamily ...). It doesn't allow you to upgrade via Apple Update as if you are on a real Mac but I think it can avoid some conflicts with modified kexts. I take note of what you said. Thanks ! Pietruszka
Please test software like iphoto and imovie and cs3 photoshop. You could create a new post to check all software and compatibility! Best regards I will but first I have to resolve problem with permissions (above).....then I will test most popular applications..... sergiales
Hi, Very promising WIP, Zeph. Can't wait for it. Let me know if I'm wrong, but I think in V1 you put "9.1.0 speedstep/intel/amd/sse3 kernel" (aka ToH's kernel). I (we) would need "sse2 10.5.1/10.5 kernel" or "9.1.0/9.0.0 sleep sse3/sse2". Also forcedeth-d doesn't work for me. Instead of that I'd need forcedeth-nockd. Please edit Info.plist and set debug=false (don't want a lot of log) and add 0x03EF10DE to support my network chip. Thank you in advance!! Sincerely, Sergio. sergiales
Gee.... i thought EFI was for Intel only.. Nice to see AMD getting so much attention.. :-) Not only for Intel. Vanilla kernel is for intel. This was answered by Netkas: Q:if my cpu can’t run vanila kernel, can i use advantages of pc_efi? A: yes, u can use it with ToH kernel, this kernel disable all anti-efi workaeounds if it finds efi Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/28/#findComment-536045 Share on other sites
me_ankit
Thanks for the info.. I think i've also read somewhere that using EFI removes the need for installing NATIT, NVinject, Titan etc.. Is it correct ? Will using EFI also give better performance? Hackintosh2
It installed fine and I also managed to install darwin to make it bootable. However, I have a problem with USB. When I have the Apple Keyboard attached, it will give me an error about: com.apple.driver.AppleHIDkeyboard has no explicit kernel depency; using version 6.0 When I unplug it and try to boot, what I get is this error: USBF: .... Start OHCI Controller will be unloaded across sleep So it seems to be a problem with USB, PLEASE HELP ME! zephyroth
sergiales You're right about the kernel. About forcedeth ... I'm actually downloading 4 Linux distributions while browsing the net ... since approximately 2 hours and a lot of other files downloaded too ... I will download 10-15G and if the system is stable after that, I will (re)add forcedeth to Rev.2. apowerr
@Zepyroth wow, revision 2 of this release looks great To people who have successfully installed this release: Immedietly after the installer does its reboot, how do you make Leopard bootable? Like, after the installer is done the files are on that HD but it doesn't boot and the install DVD cannot detect any installs on that disk (disk0s1) Any help is greatly appreciated, I've never had an issue like this with a OSX86 DVD before. WillTurner
Hey ive had several problems installing Leopard using this image Firstly i had real trouble formatting my drive using the disk utility, it would get to "creating partition map" and stay like that for a couple of hours until it said timeout. Ive solved this problem by using an old IDE drive, it was a Western Digital 300GB SATAII drive that wasnt working. Ive since managed to get Leopard installed, but the drive wont boot! When i load from the particular drive i just get the single beeping line in the top corner, that doesnt change. I have tried this (found it on another forum) : After reboot, if the system boots into Leopard fine, ignore this part and head to next section to setup multi boot. Otherwise, you might encounter blinking cursor or “HFS+ Error”, follow the steps below then If you install Leopard without Tiger first, the system might still boot into Windows instead or leave a system unbootable at all. Even the tboot loader trick(see below) wouldn’t work. In this case, you need to repair the installation and setup boot property for it. Reboot using the Leopard DVD, make sure the USB pen drive is connected. Open a terminal after everything finally loads. Find out what disk your leopard was installed on by issuing this command (my machine was rdisk0s2, will use rdiskXsY below, substitute accordingly) diskutil list Active the partition fdisk -e /dev/rdiskXfdisk: 0>update fdisk:*0> f Y “Partition 2 marked active” fdisk:*0> w Device could not be accessed exclusively. A reboot will be needed for changes to take effect. OK? [n]y Writing MBR at offset 0. fdisk: 0> qNow goto bootfix directory by typing: cd /Volumes/123/files/bootfixand do the following ./dd if=/usr/standalone/i386/boot1h of=/dev/rdiskXsY bs=512 count=1umount /Volumes/Leopard ./startupfiletool -v /dev/rdiskXsY /usr/standalone/i386/boot ./bless -device /dev/diskXsY -setBoot -verbosereboot But when i load up terminal and enter the first line: "fdisk -e /dev/rdiskXfdisk: 0>update" it says disk is read only Any suggestions?? System: AMD 64 Athlon 5600+ Asus M2N32-SLI Delux Mobo Cosiar Ram, 2GB Asus 8800GTX 768mb Ram Asus DRW-1608 DVD Double Layer DVD Writer (i also have an asus SATAII lightscribe DVD Writer installed, although the IDE Drive seems to work better, have disconnected the SATAII drive) 1x 74GB WD Raptor (SATAII) 1x 300GB WD Cavliar (SATAII) 1x Seagate 160GB HDD (IDE) <== HDD I am installing Leopard on Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/28/#findComment-536374 Share on other sites

phnikola
I just need one confirmation. I tried to install Leopard on partition (formatted with DiskPart as HFS+ previously) During installation everything goes well untill "Select a destination" window appears, but no drive can be selected. I tried: waiting (30 mins), going back and forward windows couple of times (some people say drive appeared after few attempts), starting DiskUtility but neither it can see any HD nor partition. I have infamous Ati X200 chipset (onboard graphics disabled, NV 7600GS added) with ULI M1573 southbridge, along with WD 160GB SATA drive. Mobo does not have an option in Bios to change to AHCI. The rest of system is X2 4200+, 1 GB RAM... I just need to know: What is actually wrong? Missing kexts or "some" incompatible hardware? I tried to find answer everywhere but still no help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/28/#findComment-536434 Share on other sites
