7th
http://osx86.wikidot.com/how-to-s I've seen it before but that don't explain much to me =( Don't even know where to enter those commands or what kind of program should I use... I don't care about waiting for rev 2. The problem is if the rev 2 don't work here too. =/ btw, I'm not complaining... 7th
To Iwantsound44 : Get Parted Magic 1.9 live cd . Invaluable tool to have. I think it won't help him... He has the same problem as I have here and I used the Parted Magic and created a HSF+ Partition and when I get to Leopard install it says it's a Linux partition and can't install into it. Try to re-format it is a waste of time to me because the message is the same (preparing to format). Anyway, it's is a good tool... If you solve your problem, just let me know how ok? Sargent
Well here is my story It was December and i found this Apple installation. I got it and burned it on a disc, since i worked with vista since BETA 2, i practically can find out any issue with almost anything. since it was my first time working on a mac EVER, i decided i should expand my knowledge and try new things and see if its something. since i was looking at tons of videos of leopard, i got really impressed by it and want part in the action. so after i burned it, restarted and booted, got in easily, BUT BUT the boot loader took FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!! to get into the setup and it was just SLOW SLOW SLOW all of the time * he has a slow system* ....nope AMD x2 4000+ 400 GB combined hard drives 2 GB ram 8800 GTS and its a clean system, soon to be A+ certified and stuf etc..... so anyways the installation was like no other i was laughing in the end. It took me 12 hours........12 hours amazing. the first time. I messed up and had to do it again *2 hours until it started* and i got it installed. messed up another time *after researching and learned from my mistakes without making ONE post. so i got to boot in using safe mode and got it all set up... and by the way, THIS TOOK NEARLY AND HOUR to get leopard finally booted(from the turning on, to the setup, to the dock) and i stopped and turned off the system, tried to get into Windows and couldnt (due to bios emulator HA ) *i was messing with the boot order and partitions* so i had to restore that and take a break. I found something to speed up the boot process, but realized i saw a folder of the system config and the file, so i was thinking that it was already done. now the question. IS there a solution to speeding up the overall system?? the booting into setup, the installation AND LEOPARD? Thanks Regards, Sarge Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/75/#findComment-583574 Share on other sites
mac_cute
Hello, it's all working here. LAN, audio, except for the layout of the keyboard (Brazil, ABNT 2) but that's ok for now. I wonder, how do I know if I have QE/CI, EFI and vanilla kernel, what are those things? thanks >QE= Quartz Extreme CI=Core Image. This two things are related with your video card (make a little research). You can find this features for example: apple logo>About this Mac>More info>Graphics... >EFI: for example, you could read this EFI >Vanilla kernel: I let this to you.. I hope this gives you a little help ... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/75/#findComment-584235 Share on other sites
Yellowtang
I posted somewhere else in this forum, but i think it´s better to put it in this topic because it´s about this release. This is my problem: I own AMD SSE3 3700+ Athlon64 on an nforce430 chipset with ide attached hdd and dvd. Short time after installing the amd leopard i get "Install Failed" window stating that the installer could not validate the contents of the basesystem package. It suggests to contact apple to help me out but i think i will prefer help from you :angel:angel.png The disc iss okay and the install log shows the same message as in the window as an error mesage. please help me!! beothuuk
SUCCESS! I have finally gotten leopard to work on my AMD, but only by starting in safe mode - Video won't work when starting normally - Forgive me for being a n00b, but from what I;ve read here - I think the following solution will fix the problem: Copy kexts from Leo_Vid_Kexts.zip into extension folder - Anyone know if this will fix my video problem? Thanks and THANK YOU ZEPHYROTH! UPDATE - Fixed with Zephyroth's Nvidia Driver Package. Archion
That is a known solution, you will need to set ownership and permissions on Natit.kext and replace all the other files in the folder. kourosh
I have a perfectly working system! Had to install again because I broke some kexts . Graphics work fine, after (hex)editing some kexts! Shutdown/Restart also work but no sleep ah well, I'll live. However, is there any way to use my remote (not apple one obviously) with front row? And can I run it in 64-bit? Do I still have to use -legacy? And finally, thanks Zephyroth! (And the community) Also... I think it won't help him... He has the same problem as I have here and I used the Parted Magic and created a HSF+ Partition and when I get to Leopard install it says it's a Linux partition and can't install into it. Have you changed the ID of the partition to 'af'? (I once had to do this in fdisk for tiger) I posted somewhere else in this forum, but i think it´s better to put it in this topic because it´s about this release. This is my problem: I own AMD SSE3 3700+ Athlon64 on an nforce430 chipset with ide attached hdd and dvd. LeeAMDMAC
Hello, i have got leopard to run on my desktop got on the net but cant get the audio to work (realtek ac97 if anyone can help with that) just that and the fact i can only boot in safe mode with it otherwise works perfectly i think allthough i havent been able to use front row but that might be related to the fact of no audio. My real question is ive got an acer aspire 9301AWMSI wich i would like to install it on to, but i can not get osx.5 or osx.4 too boot on. Can anybody help me? Yellowtang
Sorry kourosh, but skipping the disc check doesn´t help. The error appears in the first 10% of the installation right after a successful check of the disc, and on the same position without a check. Any other clues? Use the Marvell Yukon from MikeInNs: - Place the kext file on your desktop - Start "Terminal" and type the following commands: - "sudo -s" - Type you password. - "cp -R ~/desktop/nForceEthernetController.kext /system/library/extensions/" - "chmod -R 755 /system/library/extensions/nForceEthernetController.kext - "chown -R root:wheel /system/library/extensions/nForceEthernetController.kext" - "rm -f /system/library/extensions.*" - "diskutil repairpermissions /" - "exit" - Close "Terminal" - Shutdown the computer and take the power cord off (IMPORTANT!) - Wait 30 secs. and turn it back on. Delete the forcedeth.kext after...
