komeet
Hi guys, I've got the following problem and I hope anybody can help me. I patched zeph's iso with the new AppleNForceATA.kext and the installation went fine on my S-ATA drive. After installation I copied the new AppleNForceATA.kext from the dvd to my hdd and deleted the Extensions.mkext but after a restart I got a kernel panic error. It said something about VGA family matching fails (see shot). I guess my graphic card isn't supported, is it? If yes is there a patch for my NVIDIA Geforce Go 6150 and how can I inject it to my new installation? Thanks in advance. komeet Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/58/#findComment-563963 Share on other sites
GingerTea
@komeet: Please read the Wiki Entry regarding that error (Nvidia Graphics Card). It has been solved so many times in this Thread! -> Issue: System stops on Kernel Panic during boot. Solution: This is caused by the GeForce Kexts that are installed by default. The issue is resolved by removing the GeForce kexts at boot, and it can be done as followed: boot with -s mount -uw rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Ge*.kext rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/NV*kext exit Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/58/#findComment-563967 Share on other sites
LeeAMDMAC
Ive installed the mpkg that was made for nvidia graphics cards (Ive got an nvidia Quadro) it installed fine then when i rebooted it has fixed the problem on startup and i no longer need to use the -x flag, but after darwin finished booting i am left with a black screen, i tried both sockets on the card and no luck. Any Ideas? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/58/#findComment-563988 Share on other sites

superstition
Hello. If you're planning to release an updated image, please consider adding support for ATI motherboards, particularly IDE/ATA for the SB 400 so installation can be done. I haven't tried the current version of your image and am not sure if an ATI ATA kext is included or not. Support for the RS482 northbridge is also appreciated. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/58/#findComment-564054 Share on other sites
SilentScopeNL
Can anybody help me with my video problems? The installations of the os and the installation of the vid ktex went succesfull. But after booting in Leopard, i had problems with empty menu's (see attachment). They occur at all menus (top bar, right click etc). I'm using the kexts from this topic (leo_vid_kexts) and added my own device ID. Futhermore I'm running nforce 4 with 3500+ SSE2 (also using the SSE2 kernel for leopard). Has anybody have an idea? The specs of my video card are as follows: nVidia GeForce 6600 GT: Chipset Model: nVidia GeForce 6600 GT Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 128 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0140 Revision ID: 0x00a2 Displays: SyncMaster: Resolution: 1280 x 1024 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Hardware Accelerated Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Supported Rotation: Supported Display Connector: Status: No display connected emptymenu.tiff Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/73524-new-amd-dvd-for-leopard/page/58/#findComment-564078 Share on other sites

GingerTea
puttabong, your photoshop cs3 runs fast? what it´s yours others partitions type? ntfs? fat32? or...? I first installed it into my Applications folder, and now on my additional S-ATA Drive, and it works nice on both of them. They are formatted with HFS+! I don't see any reason why it would run slow, did you experience similiar issues with other Applications?
