Hi guys,

I've got the following problem and I hope anybody can help me.

I patched zeph's iso with the new AppleNForceATA.kext and the installation went fine on my S-ATA drive. After installation I copied the new AppleNForceATA.kext from the dvd to my hdd and deleted the Extensions.mkext but after a restart I got a kernel panic error.

It said something about VGA family matching fails (see shot). I guess my graphic card isn't supported, is it? If yes is there a patch for my NVIDIA Geforce Go 6150 and how can I inject it to my new installation?

Thanks in advance.

@komeet:

Please read the Wiki Entry regarding that error (Nvidia Graphics Card).

It has been solved so many times in this Thread!

->

Issue: System stops on Kernel Panic during boot.

Solution: This is caused by the GeForce Kexts that are installed by default. The issue is resolved by removing the GeForce kexts at boot, and it can be done as followed:

boot with -s

mount -uw

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Ge*.kext

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/NV*kext

exit

Ive installed the mpkg that was made for nvidia graphics cards (Ive got an nvidia Quadro) it installed fine then when i rebooted it has fixed the problem on startup and i no longer need to use the -x flag, but after darwin finished booting i am left with a black screen, i tried both sockets on the card and no luck. Any Ideas?

hey sergiales its a rs690,r690m with sb600 (south bridge). Its an Ati chipset. Yes its a toshiba laptop i ahvent had an luck with any mac x8 dvds apart from 10.4.4 which boots the install but cant see the hard drive.

Can i extract the 10.4.4 kexts into leopard amd 10.5.1? Its still stuck on APCI STATE s0 ss s4s5 thing

Hello. If you're planning to release an updated image, please consider adding support for ATI motherboards, particularly IDE/ATA for the SB 400 so installation can be done. I haven't tried the current version of your image and am not sure if an ATI ATA kext is included or not. Support for the RS482 northbridge is also appreciated.

Thanks

Can anybody help me with my video problems? The installations of the os and the installation of the vid ktex went succesfull.

But after booting in Leopard, i had problems with empty menu's (see attachment). They occur at all menus (top bar, right click etc).

I'm using the kexts from this topic (leo_vid_kexts) and added my own device ID. Futhermore I'm running nforce 4 with 3500+ SSE2 (also using the SSE2 kernel for leopard).

Has anybody have an idea?

puttabong, your photoshop cs3 runs fast?

what it´s yours others partitions type? ntfs? fat32? or...?

I first installed it into my Applications folder, and now on my additional S-ATA Drive,

and it works nice on both of them.

They are formatted with HFS+!

I don't see any reason why it would run slow, did you experience similiar

issues with other Applications?

SilentScopeNL

Check the wiki, download the mpkg I've made and see if it's better.

RS690 is a quite new chipset. I'm not sure if Leopard supports it (I've read it is very incomplete).

Good luck.

Just wanted to report here that IT WORKED!

First time I installed this Leopard, it just didn't boot, and I got the please insert disc bla bla bla

What I did:

1) Installed UpHuck v1.4a (ONLY mac os x 10.4.9)

2) Installed Leopard 10.5.1 AMD

Got to the bootloader, loaded but gave a kernel panic.

3) Booted with -x (and yeeh, it worked!)

4) Installed the ATI X1900XT driver, and removed GeForce.kext

5) Removed -v and - legacy

And there we go ;)
