flibblesan
Topic says it all. What's going on with this forum? It's often down for periods every few days. Is it network problems with Fubra? Anybody else getting these problems?
Numberzz
It was a power outage at the place where InsanelyMac is hosted.
~pcwiz
There have been database errors, server loading, and outages a lot lately. Also, the forum just seems overall slower now. When I load a page at the bottom is says "Waiting for a.fubra.com" for a long time and then the page loads. Overall page load time of 8-10 seconds which is pretty long. I don't know if its the internet connection (256Kbps) or the browser (Firefox 2 latest release) but its driving me crazy.

socal swimmer
I am also having the super-slow load times. It just says "waiting for a.fubra.com..." on firefox 2. Sometimes its slow, sometimes not. I do not think it is my isp, because i ran a speedtest and got 8,000kbs download. plus, activity monitor shows no activity during that time on my network, and my cpu is not maxed out. It loads to the point right above where the ads are, then stops and just says "waiting for a.fubra.com..." (on firefox 2.0.0.9). Sometimes its slow, sometimes not. I do not think it is my isp, because i ran a speedtest and got 8,000kbs download. plus, activity monitor shows no activity during that time on my network, and my cpu is not maxed out. Maybe its the ads slowing it down? it got to the point where i would have insanelymac in 3 separate tabs, and while one was loading, i would work in the other two. edit: I have Time Warner for my isp, and just now while i was "waiting for a.fubra.com...", i succesfully loaded google.com, start to finish before insanelymac was done waiting. so what does that say about the problem being firefox OR my isp? ~pcwiz
I am getting the EXACT same problem as social swimmer. And I don't have the same ISP as you and I still have the problem so its probably not the ISP.
erbic
I am getting the EXACT same problem as social swimmer. And I don't have the same ISP as you and I still have the problem so its probably not the ISP. It's the ads. I'm using AdBlockPlus in Firefox, and the ONE thing it blocks on every InsanelyMac page is: http://a.fubra.com/advertiser/publish/show_ads.js Notice the "a.fubra.com"; that's the domain which is slowing everyone down. I'm going to guess Fubra's ad service is glitching out and they haven't noticed it yet.
~pcwiz
Yeah do you guys recall that when the domain was "partner.fubra.com" it was faster? This "a.fubra.com" thing is slowing stuff down.
