People seem to forget that OSX86 is a hobby OS, the only thing that is garanteed is that you will have to deal with problems...

Did you try 10.4.8? Did your display work with that install? I don't think there is a big difference w. 10.4.10.

Did you search for your particular display? I had a similar issue with resolution and just bought another card which was known to work.

You attitude does stink a little. 1. all those issues at the beginning are all in a days work for an OSX86 beginners installation. 2. You need to install the lan and audio drivers seperately - I have done so and its running perfectly. Before you ask me, you should have a look for the drivers on the forum. 3. For a dualboot option well there are various ways to do it either with Darwin, Grub or Windows bootloader amoungst many others. I am using the Vista boot menu (BCDedit).

Sorry if you guys think my attitude stinks 'a little' but I;ve lost the plot due to finding a problem and fixing it but when you keep having new problems it does feel like some one hit your nuts so im sorry and also I've posted this on another forum and the questions they've asked me are what I've posted therefore me having 3 posts non-stop...Once again sorry...I have checked the Network and Audio options but non of them work with my PC as they are the wrong drivers.

These problems are gone:

BOOTMRG missing

HFS+ Error

Apple logo with Stop sign

Display not working...

but the errors I've got is:

No audio

No Internet (Intel® 82562V 10/100 Platform LAN Connect)

No dual boot Menu (Tried chain0 only!)

Display settings on Mac are 1280x1024 and my screen is 1680x1050

I was wondering if someone could maybe know a few tricks around the resolution to make it work or maybe someone has the same network card and found a trick around it..

BTW. Chrisp7, could you perhaps tell me how you done the Vista boot menu?? or a link to the tutorial you used?

many thanks..

start searching in the forum with keywords for parts of your hardware

for example: 82562V returned me a lot of threads

i'm sure that one of them is what you need

1st thing to do when you are on mac is setup the network card

and then again searh search for the other parts

Try searching for dell e520, you might learn something.

macdotnub needs to be installed with sata and ich8r drivers for your system.

I can't help you with video; I have nvidia card which works.

Your audio works. the kext is referenced in link above.

I couldn't get onboard lan to work, so I installed a tulip card which works for me.

Good luck.

Yeah guys, I forgot to tell you that I've searched around and the best one so far is installing the 10.3.x IONetwork... But before I do my next install, I want to know the answers to my problems...I've installed everything included in Mac.Nubs OSx86 and my audio....well its dead on Mac but alive on vista...network not working...

PS. I have searched before making this post.

thanks for the help guys...

wmarsh: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=231456 is quite good will try soon thanks.

Sorry your having such a hard time with your install. I definitely know how you feel. Its very frustrating. Double-ly so for me cuz my real mac allows me to know how easy these upgrades are suppose to be (just a click here and there and done) not so with the Hackintosh's but that's the rub. To be honest with you a 10.4.10 install right off the bat is going to pretty difficult if you haven't been doing this very long. some might get lucky but its not easy with all the kernel and kext that need to be picked out for your system. I'd try to first get a solid setup with 10.4.8 so at least then when you jump to 10.4.10 you'll have some working .kext files to pull from that might fix your issues. For example for me I need the GMA950 drivers for my onboard video and I had no sound and my network was not working right. I was able to pull AppleHDA.kext and IONetworking.kext from a previous working install and replace the ones in my 10.4.10 install and that brought things back to the way they should have been. Its a lot of trial and error and not for the easily frustrated. Its a puzzle -- a tricky sick puzzle. But once your dialed it feels good. Then its a good idea to back that working install up somewhere cuz {censored} happens.

you know what im going thou...i need to short out the dual boot first as chain0 dont work...

UPDATE: I've given up...this is some whack ass {censored}...not recommend anyone to install this {censored}....waste of time...

 :Dhaha...matter of fact, I change my mind...I might install Leopard but I am currently waiting for some fix my way my internet does NOT work!! :Dhaha...matter of fact, I change my mind...I might install Leopard but I am currently waiting for some fix why way my internet does NOT work!!
