A Nonny Moose
You'll need a soldering iron, raw chips, and lots of prayer. Heavy on the prayer. Numberzz
Almost any Mac can play WoW perfectly. It just takes a bit of RAM. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/68613-imac-20-graphics-card-upgradereplace/#findComment-488321 Share on other sites
gcodori
If you are talking about the ALUM imacs, you CAN upgrade the video card. They are slot mounted but use different heat pipes. You will need to retain your old heat pipe. I looked over both the ALUM 24 inch and 20 inch service manuals - both models use upgradable cards. You can use a 24" card in a 20" model, but would have to use a 20" heat pipe. Look over www.ifixit.com or service manuals for more info. strawnman
I was worried that my 20" silver I mac with the 2400 xt wouldn't play well on Wow. However, just using the stock ram, 1gb and nothing else, upgrading to leopard, updating wow with new update that uses the dual core intel better, I have experienced good play. One area I noticed some lag was in UC near the ogar guards downstairs by the elevators. There are some instances that slow, but I will report when I get more ram.
