Lightroom isn't coming out of beta until at least the end of the year, so i wouldn't look for a unibin beta version until at least the summer (if at all - they'll just probably release the unibin as final).

I wouldn't like to try it on my 86 box, it would probably kill it lol

I think you only get the Rosetta option if it's a universal binary. Since this is a PPC app only, it uses Rosetta by default.

I just installed it and tried running, and I get the same error ("Adobe Lightroom requires a vector unit in the processor (a G4 or G5 PPC chip).") ... damn! Gotta wait for that unibin I guess.

Maybe... but I am running 10.4.3 (8f1099) and it doesn't work. Perhaps one needs 8f1111. But I bet it's simply that our processors aren't supported.

I guess I'll just wait for Beta 2, which might be a unibin. For now I'm installing iPhoto 6, which at least will give me the satisfaction of playing around with a new photo program for a while.

I have it running without QE/CI with an nVidia FX5200 in my laptop. Remember to get the latest Maxxuss patched kernel. I think the most recent JaS PPF patch from about 2 weeks ago uses this kernel.

I can also run Aperture on my machine, with these versions, using the patched Aperture that skips the check for CPU, etc. It runs slowly but it runs fully. Lightroom runs much faster though, and I find the interface easier to use because it is closer to what I am used to from Photoshop/Bridge/Raw Converter, but it is much nicer and way more streamlined than that set of monster apps.

You do need Alitivec/G4 emulation to run this PPC app, same as with Aperture...in fact aperture requires a patch and Altivec.....so the only version that works is 1111a (g?)

I've tried Aperture...I get no preview window even though I have a a GMA 900 board with QE and CI. Lightroom seems to work just fine...a bit slow. i still like it because for me, PS2 Camera Raw is broken under 1111a...hoping next version is a unibin
