andrew h
Excellent, that's exactly the board I was looking at. When you say sound is working - is that just stereo or the whole HD 7.1? karaakeha1
Stereo Sound Works SATA is faster than on the board ASUS P5W-DH which I used to have . and system pro says AHCI Version 1.20 Supported when on the original mac pro or any real mac its only AHCI 1.10 Version So no complain Real fast system with C2D @3.2 Ghz And VMware and Parallels runs real smooth Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/62565-fully-functional-gigabye-p35-ds3p-audio-everything/#findComment-443159 Share on other sites

andrew h
Have poked around the forums with not much luck yet. have switched from an AMD OSX system (with everything working) to the P35-DS3. Running great so far except that I can't get my IDE HDD to work. It works on the windows partition, as well as working from the previous AMD system (so I know they're compatible) Doesn't show the drive at all in the Disk Utility. Any ideas? Proteo
According to what I've read, this mobo indeed looks like a great update option. I'll be getting a new one as soon as I decide what to buy. So far, I've narrowed my choices to these ones, as they fit in my budget: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R (cheapest) GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3P GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS4 GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS4 Rev. 2.0 (most expensive) Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. herbalb
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3R (cheapest)GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3P GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS4 GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS4 Rev. 2.0 (most expensive) Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I am in the same boat ;-) So maybe I will get the P35-DS3P or DS4. @ those already using one of the above mentioned boards: What installer-version (JAS, Koolkal, Uphuck etc) of OSX 10.4 and what of Leo (ToH, BrazilMac) would you recommend in order to get most things to work out of the box? I need SATA, LAN, USB and Firewire to work onboard, sound does not necessariliy need to function as I already have an USB soundcard. Can I do a regular install off the DVD or will I have to use some other methods? Thank you. herbalb EDIT: I just ordered a DS4 as I got it for a great price so I hope it will work with OSX without probs.
