Brywalker
Not even near full patches - the kernel still needs a lot of work for SSE2 only. This is not a DVD patch either. Just a heads up for those who rush in. He is working his rear off, and doing a fantastic job! A bit more patience! CthulhuOSX
Installing right now. I applied the patches for 8f1111, and burned the dvd, to my surprise it worked at first run, not like 8f1099 (it worked like until 10th try or so). I'll let you know if it worked. CthulhuOSX
Ok, it installed natively and looks it's working fine. Too bad Apple Remote Desktop isn't working. madmanxwater
How do you apply the patches? I'm new to this and these files are in a format I've never seen. thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5104-maxxuss-8f1111-patch-available/#findComment-32763 Share on other sites
CthulhuOSX
Sorry man, I'm really not sure if I can tell you how to do that, forum policy. I don't want to break any rules. Ask the moderators and if they agree, I'd be glad to help you. domino
P4 2.8C | SSE2 | PAE enabled | No XD Install method: VMWare to partition Patches Applied: Maxxuss_Kernel_SSE2_10.4.3_8F1111_raw-test1.zip, Maxxuss_Kernel_SSE2-Patcher_NoNX_10.4.3_8F1111_raw-test2.zip, MaxxussAntiTPM_10.4.3_8F1111_raw-test1.zip, Extensions.rar, 1111.maxxuss.installer.zip - I mounted the dmg in native 1099, applied all the patches, and copied the kexts as per instructions in the archive and wiki. - Converted the dmg to ISO and copied the converted ISO to a windows partition - I applied the hex edit which found 3 instances that was replaced. - Mounted the ISO in Daemon Tools and created a blank vmware session that only contained the cdrom and the mounted physical drive. - Proceeded to install 1111 (8 minutes), completed the install, rebooted vmware/Mac session and went straight into the Mac desktop. - Shut down vmware session and rebooted the computer. All that and no success running native. Something about a CPU0 panic that was already posted by a number of other people. Brywalker
curley: I appreciate it, however the post was supposed to be more for the n00bs that are looking for a full DVD PPF patch with hacked kernels. I have 8F1111 working with these patches on my SSE3 machine no probs. So to clarify, yes the patches work. No there aren't any finalized kernel patches for those that need to bypass NX and SSE3. domino
The patches work only if you know which patches to apply. I was just hoping to get lucky, that's why there are so many of them. My post was not intended to be a guide. Win2OSX was down for several minutes at the time I posted this and I just wanted to keep it somewhere while it was still fresh. Anyway, here's a bit of good news for some people. http://www.win2osx.net/forum/showpost.php?...9&postcount=152 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5104-maxxuss-8f1111-patch-available/#findComment-32844 Share on other sites

urig-herb
What are the differences to 8F1099? Is altivec supported in rosetta? Any app updates besides iTunes? cyrana
Rosetta can handle Altivec (not sure if it handles all instructions or what, but it has support now), and OpenGL inside of Rosetta as well. Not sure about other app updates. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5104-maxxuss-8f1111-patch-available/#findComment-32852 Share on other sites

Not sure about other app updates. I've tryed Toast 7 (Which only works with G4/G5) and it didn't work on 8f1111, I have SSE3, NX/XD, PAE, do you know if that's due to lack of Altivec support? How I can do an altivec test? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/5104-maxxuss-8f1111-patch-available/#findComment-32996 Share on other sites

Pitr-
Does Skype works? Nope, the Skype PPC-binary doesn't work and since there's no universal binary as of yet it simply doesn't work. EtherealRemnant
Just letting you guys know what sampson discovered. Rosetta isn't required at all in this release. ATSServer is a unibin now. You can actually remove oah750 and oah750d completely once its installed and it will boot and run, you'll just lose support for PPC apps. As was mentioned previously, OpenGL has been fixed while running in Rosetta... not exactly fixed, per se, but at least it runs (most of the time) now. Still a ton of unimplemented functions and instructions and its definitely pretty slow but hey, it works. Overall... I'm not that impressed with the build but that's probably due to the fact I have an SSE2 proc. A lot of things tend to go unstable and I can't even launch the unibin iTunes. Its not really a deal breaker as I can't f***ing STAND iTunes... but its kind of interesting that a native app freezes the comp. domino
@ ER, I guess that good news about ATSS, but I really do need support for PPC apps such as the new Adium build that run well in 1111. iTunes ipens on my install but the music stream is very choppy. When I used the intel build of iTunes in 1099, it worked flawless. Safari crashes left and right, and so do all the other Mozilla browsers. I now use Opera Latest intel build and it hasen't crashed yet. Maybe I should start another thread about the pros and cons with 1111. Do you know if they are using altivec intructions on toast 7 or is just the intentional check that doesn't let me use it?
