Gipo
It makes sense... thanx. Now i had understood that it is not possible to upgrade an existing and working osx system with this patch (like in windowswith service pack). It's necessary 2 make a new clean installation and then reinstall all applications (FinalCut, toast and so on). Thanks again... i'm going to try it on a new partition

Gurqn
No , I was a talking about tubgirl's upgrade coz I saw who is uploader on the site I mean uploader was a tubgirl but I cant find this torrent site I was download two month ago anyway if you have mac os x 10.4.8 final (tubgirl) , you can upgrade your system to 10.4.9 working perfect for me Here is the readme The 10.4.9 Update is recommended for PowerPC and Intel-based Mac computers currently running Mac OS X Tiger version 10.4.8 and includes general operating system fixes, as well as specific fixes or compatibility updates for the following applications and technologies: - RAW camera support - Handling of large or malformed images that could cause crashes - Image capture performance - Mouse scrolling and keyboard shortcuts - Font handling - Playback quality, and bookmarks in DVD Player - USB video conferencing cameras for use with iChat - Bluetooth devices - Browsing AFP servers - Apple USB Modem - Windows-created digital certificates - Open and Print dialogs in applications that use Rosetta on Intel-based Macs - Time zone and daylight saving for 2006 and 2007 - Security updates
skyview
During my quest to find the update, here is what I discovered: Name Uploaded Size Release Date OSX 1048 AMD FINAL 4mon 2w 2.3 Gb OSX_1049_AMDVM_PPF 6d 6h 586.5 Mb (May 6) OSX 10.4.9 DELTA UPDATE AMD TEST1 1mon 3w 158.3 Mb (Mar 13) This thread started out asking about the May 6th release but quite a few of responses recommended the Mar 13th release. So, which release works the best? Thanks In Advance
cbmkgd
Like i said above, there's another one after the march 13 TEST1, which is the April 14 "Mac OS X 10.4.9 AMD update by Myzar" (168.61MB); you can consider it as the final pkg result after the test1 version. /edit: which doesn't mean the ppf hasn't more updates than this one, being more recent. Here's the nfo: AMD 10.4.9 SSE3 Delta Update with netkas 10.4.9 autofsb kernel Nvidia kexts aren't installed by default , they are in a separate package that you can install later. Device id supported are: 0x004010de 0x00f010de 0x022010de 0x014010de 0x016010de 0x009010de 0x01d010de 0x039010de 0x029010de 0x02e010de 0x032610de 0x016710de 0x016110de 0x039110de 0x032210de 0x032210de 0x039210de 0x004110de 0x039110de 0x016710de 0x00c310de 0x01df10de 0x004510de 0x00F610de 0x032610de 0x02e010de 0x014010de 0x02e110de if your card insn't listed there don't install them unless you know how to recover. During the first reboot you need to wait atleast 2mins because the rosetta cache and prebinding are rebuilt. Don't reset if you see any hd activity . Ati kexts are in extensions 10.4.9 disabled , feel free to try them if you know what you are doing, i haven't messed with them because i don't have an ati card and i also hate ati Was upped by Xikita on tpb, but beforehand was made available by myzar on hackint0sh. Being from myzar, it should have been mostly tested on the tubgirl 10.4.8 final; no idea about impact on other installs.

Headrush69
During my quest to find the update, here is what I discovered: Name Uploaded Size Release Date OSX 1048 AMD FINAL 4mon 2w 2.3 Gb OSX_1049_AMDVM_PPF 6d 6h 586.5 Mb (May 6) OSX 10.4.9 DELTA UPDATE AMD TEST1 1mon 3w 158.3 Mb (Mar 13) This thread started out asking about the May 6th release but quite a few of responses recommended the Mar 13th release. So, which release works the best? Thanks In Advance OSX_1049_AMDVM_PPF and OSX 10.4.9 DELTA UPDATE AMD TEST1 are two completely different things. OSX_1049_AMDVM_PPF - is a PPF patch to take the original OSX 1048 AMD FINAL DVD and change it into a 10.4.9 DVD (Plus other updates and is for new installations) OSX 10.4.9 DELTA UPDATE AMD TEST1 - is an upgrade package to bring a running AMD 10.4.8 setup to 10.4.9 (The Myzar release is an alternate to this and does the same thing.) nayakrnr`
i had successfully used jas 10.4.8, recently downloaded both tubgirl 1048 AMD iso and 1049 patch. patched the iso successfully, verified the checksum too. now booting from dvd, boot is fine but when mounting the harddisks there is a message saying DISK0 I/O error. but booting continues. also disk utility shows the whole drive but not individual partitions, any ways to make 1049 recognise the ide drive with partitions?? my spec: athlon 64 x2 4000+ am2 biostar nf61s m2a SE samsung 80 GB ide harddisk

nayakrnr`
yes. it has sse3. it can run 10.4.10 and may be 10.5 leopard. actually i had downloaded tubgirl 10.4.8 iso long time back. only downloaded 10.4.9 ppf patch recently thinking that it could work. but no luck. internet connection is very slow here. it will take many days before i download any new iso.
