Ratteler
I have it running on my Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop. The Specs: 1.4 P4 proccessor, sse2 512mb Ram Ati mobility Radion 9000 64mb vram Sound - I think its internal intel but osx recongnizes it as AC97 Screen Resolution: 1280x1024 at 24bit Speed: Excellent Known problems: Laptop supports 1400x1500 in windows but in OSX screen is scrambled. Trying to get Netgear wireless ethernet card (pcmcia slot) working I just need a fix for the bottom 2 and ill be good to go!! 1 year+ Later... I'm trying to get my Dell Inspiron 8200 to run OS X86. I have a 10.4.6 that work in VMWARE, but when I try get it going native it fails to boot with a B0 error. I have a blank drive in the media bay with 20GB HSF partition that I made in with the Install DVD's Drive utilities. I was hoping to use the BIOS to switch between booting from the Internal Windows drive, and the External OS X drive. Any suggestions?
paulicat
Dude, b0 error means your osx partition is not set "active" or "bootable" Use fdisk of your choice, either a bootable linux cd or dos fdisk and mark that partition active or bootable (word depends on which fdisk you are using). tradez
I have a new HP dv5000. I was able to setup osx without an issue. I am new to mac's in general though and have no idea where to get drivers for all the hardware, and if I even can. Then once I get them, how do i get them onto the laptop and install them? Will a nero burned ISO simply work and be readable on osx?
equilibriumuk
My new system is working very well. Specs: E6400 Core2Duo @ 3.2Ghz Asus P5W DH Connect3D X1900XT Patches I've installed: BorisBade (used installer): Works perfectly, no tearing, no corruption, full QE/CI and OpenGL Quake3 seems to run at about half the FPS of windows but still over 500fps on my cfg AzaliaAudio: Sound working very well. I was surprised at how good the onboard sound was, I was using GarageBand within minutes Aberracus' IOPCIFamily: Seemed to sort out a few problems, system booted faster Bliss' Slow Boot Time Patch: Total speedup of booting into OSX, only takes about 12secs I think that was about all. The onboard dual gigabit network worked straight away and the system seems to benchmark faster than a Mac Pro Not sure if I can post on the HCL?
