Hello,

first of all thanks for all your efforts.

I tested on my Notebook with X200M (devid=0x5a62)

with the following configuration:

ATI1Slice106.kext

Callisto disabled

ATIRadeon9700.kext koverg patch

IONDRV you mentioned a few posts earlier

Chun-Nan's kexts installed (last version)

My system is iatkos 1.0r2 with 10.5.1 leopard.

there is no kernel panic during booting-time, but

i only get a totally messed up screen when the logon

screen should appear.

I would be very glad to participate in testing and would

be very grateful if you could give me some hint on what

I could have done wrong.

Thank you very much.

My first guess would be the IOPCIFamily.kext by Chun-Nan.

Did you install all the extensions at the same time? If not try proceeding step by step and looking what exactly is not working.

The latest rev for Tiger (rev2) of IOPCIFamily.kext isnt working for me.. (hardware id: 5955) .. i guess i can only wait..

Good luck to you all

Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't quite figure out how Slice's work on IOPCIFamily.kext plays into the issue with the x200 video chipset? Anybody help me out with that one.

I thought it might have to do with the fact that we were attempting to use Chun-Nan's IOPCI earlier, but I'm just too dense to gather what's going on right now!

I can't to tell you this long story.

Resume: before patching ATIRadeonXXXX.kext we need to get good addresses and interrupts, i.e. IOPCIFamily. And may be additional driver to tune Radeon chip after getting a good base.

I also don't know all details so any information may be useful.

About ati.amd.com - PowerPC only!

Hi Radeon 200M users!

To find what is wrong in your system I need to get your PCI tracing.

Can someone make follows

1. Download AGPGartTraceOnly to /Test

2. In terminal

sudo -s

password:

cp -r -v /Test/AGP* /S*/L*/E*/

repair permissions /

reboot

3. boot with -v -s

/sbin/fsck -fy

/sbin/mount -uw /

dmesg >dmesg1.txt

sh /etc/rc

wait and type ctrl-c

dmesg >dmesg2.txt

ioreg -l -x -w 1024 >ioregNNN.txt

rm -r -v /S*/L*/E*/AGP*

rm -v /S*/L*/E*.ke*

rm -v /S*/L*/E*.mke*

Thank you in advance.

P.S. Before upload ZIP the files.

Here is it.

Hi Radeon 200M users!

To find what is wrong in your system I need to get your PCI tracing.

Here is my tracing for 200m on 10.4.6. Actually, with ATI1Slice.kext (from post #184 of this thread) sitting in Extensions. Don't know whether I should remove it beforehand.

__1040___1088___1093___1080___1074_.zip

Thanks for the small howto.

OS: Tiger v10.4.10 tubgirl

Chipset: ATi 200m 5955

Am using this .kext http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=9847

And about the ati.amd.com driver. I know its only for PPC but it may help you with development of this one. Or maybe not..

Good luck

EDIT:

These are just the trace files, not the drivers..

200m.zip

Maybe it's because 200m is not an AGP card. According to http://www.ati.com/products/radeonxpress200m/index.html we have PCIe chipset.

Yes, AGPGartTraceOnly needs to make a trace of your PCI bus. I shall try to write another procedure.

Has anyone every just wondered if the ATI 1100 (aka 200m) just cant handle (support) QE/CI because its not strong enough? :pirate2:

Like a good friend of mine used to say.

Think Different ;) (AKA Clayton) :wallbash:
