zu1u
I know all about using updates and how they can make certain applications or even the whole operating system useless.. i'm just curious if anyone took the chance and had a positive experience [or not] with the new updates... zu1u
You only have to watch out for ichat updates. itunes and quicktime are fine to update. I assume you weren't around at the time of the QuickTime 7.1.3 and iTunes 7.0.2 updates  Those two worked fine on my Intel rig. What happened with yours? Fischerms80
Seems to work fine on my Toshiba Satellite A135-S4487, sound will not route to the headphone jack when headphones are plugged - sound is going thru the speakers. HawleyTronics
I haven't even gotten iTunes or iChat to work...  I installed OS X86 via the tiger-x86-flat.img file from Ubuntu Live CD...  OS X 10.4.1 AMD Athlon 64 3200+ CPU 768Mb RAM SoundBlaster Live PCI ATI Radeon 8500 128Mb AGP MSI V-Class MoBo  Would these supposedly work if I Upgrade the Kernel...maybe at least to 10.4.6? (I have the HotISO DVD of 10.4.6, but already tried performing the Upgrade once with no success. I thought I checked off the correct packages but who knows.) zu1u
HawleyTronics: It's highly recommended that you download the latest 10.4.8 release that includes the diskutil fix and all the other tweaks.. then you should be able to try Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/44325-itunes-71-and-quicktime-715/#findComment-318812 Share on other sites
HawleyTronics
I will do that...I am going to disregard the 10.4.6 ISO i downloaded and try the 10.4.8...if it craps-out, no biggy..it's a test drive anyway and I can just reinstall a previous version. If you mean the preference page being blank, as mentioned a few posts above there is a simple fix.
