semthex
Hi people! Because of recent stragnation with the hel in #kernel etc. I want to announce some things for the future. It has been quite some time now since the last release was made and I watched a bit how things develop with time since the sources were out. Well, some intresting additions were made like the Paulicat's Speedstep patches for the notebook generation and such. Absolutly thanks to Paulicat and other develoeprs, for supporting the community with his spare free time! Sadly the support we had earlier for common questions in the IRC channel has basicly vanished a bit towrds 0 and since the kernel host is down cause of real bad network issues with the ISP, the channel has become more of an idle desert. To solve this I wanted to announce not only a new 10.4.8 SSE3 release and well in future also a new SSE2/SSE3 combo release to come up with some nice additions and bug fixes which were demanded, but also that I will be present for your questions from now on at least once or two times a week in the evening hours for some QuA to help you with things and take up suggestions for fixes. During the main times we will have also other skilled people present there to help you out, I hope you will drop buy and enjoy the times with us. I hope this is some good news for you and we will see on #kernel @ irc.moofspeak.net ! Ferret-Simpson
Woohoo. "I've never been so excited in my life." There are still a certain number of bugs, but nevertheless, the Sx kernel line is a great achievement. mcfresh
Is SSE3-Emulation already at 100% in the recent SSE2-Kernel? I still got some issues running programs on my P4 Northwood, itunes is crashing sometimes, mostly when other sound sources are used at the same time. iDVD also crashes when burning a DVD to an image.....; So is the next release bringing emulation of ALL instructions? Thx! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43236-news-from-the-developer-front/#findComment-311948 Share on other sites

Guest bikedude880
SSE2 more than likely won't be implemented into 10.5... it takes too much work and it would run extremely slow.
