wouldn't be surprised if there's another Stevenote in a few weeks. the iPhone is probably one of Apple's biggest projects since the iPod and he didn't want to take away it's thunder. Do you really think Apple will leave us hanging without any word on iWork, iLife 07 as well?

Its not going to be released (and neither is iLife) until the next announcement. The iPhone was huge, and he didn't need to take anything away from it. Yesterday Apple inc.'s stock went up $7.10...

Also, there will probably be a specific launch date before it is a actually launched. They want to get this thing out quickly, and it is impossible to know exactly when it can be ready at this point in development. Additionally, Steve need to reveal the "top secret" feature way before it comes out. They will want people to pre-order, and you can't pre-order if it is suddenly announced.

I expect an announcement from Apple about a "Media Event" as soon as their stock stabilizes and either plateaus or starts going down.

Probably be around the 30th, so the day before Vista is "released", Apple can drop the price of the mini by $100 and then reinforce in people's minds to "Forget about buying Vista and go buy a Mac instead. Remember everyone, you can buy a Mini for only $100 more than buying a copy of Vista for your existing computer, and you will get a free upgrade to Leopard on [fill in the date]. Then you can get iLife with [fill in the blank new features] that do not exist under Vista allowing you to do [fill in the blank] far easier."

That way, there will be a lot of second guessing when it comes to people handing over their credit cards to buy the upgrade.

That, and it adds a ton of other moments where they can keep their stock going up and up through dozens of hype sessions aranged back to back whenever things start looking dull.
