It keeps going on and on :s

I'll remove the kext now, cause i can't do much with OS X right now.

No log for networkselector, but it gives the same error as the others have mentioned.

I can't attach the system.txt because it has a size of 250mb and growing.

This due the above code :)

Ps: Tested on a fresh install 10.4.9, 8.9.1 kernel

i disabled the log for temp messages

Thank you.

Well, nothing changed for the networkselector, still the same error.

I suppose my old logs are still usefull?

Could post the system.log now if needed.

Hello,

Downloaded and installed the new version. The messages that were appearing on system.log were gone but the OS is behaving in a strange way, it seems that it will crash or lock.

I am catching the logs and send it.

Cheers

iwi's driver will never work if you test it pluged to the internet with another network card

disconnect all other cards and test iwi alone

iwi3945/2100

move the bluetooth from system/extensions before testing iwi

Hello,

I'm new here...

I installed the newest version of iwi2200.kext and my system recognized it as PCI Ethernet card etc. . Then I tried to open networkselector (also newest version), but it told me it was unable to open the "Zerolink" Framework, because it was not loaded. I looked in /System/Library/Private Frameworks/ but... there was nothing like "Zerolink"... I guess that's the reason why it had not been loaded  I'm running JaS 10.4.8 with Semthex's kernel 8.8.1 . (Yes, I know, ******* newbies etc.) but where can I get this Framework?

Thx in advance and sorry for my bad English... I'm from Germany and I'm learning it for 3 years now...

jalavoui: I am going to spend time to overhaul the FAQ on the IWI. Hopefully we can point new users to this faq instead of answering the same question 500 times like "I installed the driver but I cant connect with my 3945"

I have already started to make changes but I am currently on a Windows box and it is coming from memory.

tested the latest(rev253. iwi3945.dmg)

the result was same as before.

error sending RXON

error sending configuration.

...

something

finally, hanged desktop with rainbow wheel spinning.

wondering that what would cause both errors above.

jaravoui, could you please explain the problem and your resolution for it.

thanks in advance.

this is the installer log

by the way : awsome FAQ

thanks

I have completely rewrote the Installation instruction page (old one is archived)

I created a new page about the networkselector and a troubleshooting steps page.

I have made more big changes to the FAQ

All of these are listed as Featured on the project homepage http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/ (look on the right). Let me know what you think

i dont know how does it connect from the custom ethernet card it creates, i put everything and still doesnt connect, from using the network selector to putting all the manual info of the wireless and still doesnt work, the kazu, javaliou old drivers(airport card) works for me. i hope you can tell me where im missing, i followed all the info well.

thanks for reading. Laters =O

I use to have the same problem, but moseschrist help me to solve it.

All you need to do is delete the iwi2200.pkg in your /Library/Reciepts/ folder, before install.

like this

sudo rm -R /Library/Reciepts/iwi2200.pkg

then reinstall the last version of the kext.

Hi everyone

My ThinkPad T43p is running on MacOSX 10.4.6 upgraded to 10.4.7 with JaS Update, Darwin kernel 8.4.1 (!) and I would like to make my 2200BG work on it. I downloaded the lastest iwi2200 driver, but when i'm trying to launch networkSelector, I get this message :

gnico$ /Users/gnico/Desktop/networkSelector; exit
Could not get ID for kernel control. 2
logout
[Opération terminée]

Is this related to my kernel version or anything else?

This might be a longshot but worth a try.

Ralink based cards are currently supported in OS X by Ralink themselves in a similar manner your current efforts. They are detected as an ethernet connection then a wireless configuration utility is used to scan for networks, configure WEP and WPA, then connect.

I'm not certain but I'm sure source has been made available for their driver and app at some point. Ralink are usually very accomodating to developers, if you email them and suggest you are developing for their chipset rather than Intel you might be able to get your hands on some source.
