moses,

nice gui ;)

i've just ported networkselector to iwi3945

both iwi2100/3945 are quite unstable - better to keep them as test only for now

how do you think the svn tree should be updated? keep the old version (disabled) and add the nsGui to the tree?

iwi3945 rev 400

added networkselector

the expected behaviour is to do nothing until option (1) is pressed.

this version is quite different from 2100/2200 - because of mac80211. i do hope it work

the main function - for now - is to enable/disable the driver. this will prevent some kernel panics.

http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/

about the insanelymac

there use to be a list of hardware drivers for mac os x86

can someone check if it still exists and add iwi200 to the driver list?

i think it's stable enought to be there

iwi3945

can someone check the ipw_send_power_mode2(). i think it needs to be disabled because it causes the

Radio Frequency Kill Switch is On: msg

the code must also be changed to don't allow bg_alive_Start() to be called - this should only happen after networkselector option (1) is pressed.

there's a lot of work to be done...

i can check any code you can write. i'd love to fix the hardware bug for good. pm me if interested.

can you check in the iwidarwin site - "issues" ?

this bug causes lot of cards to not work - if you fix it we all apreciate

long message at boot (scanning, etc.) and panic:

this means the code is all wrong - i'll fix it

iwi2100 rev 401

changed code to stop the driver from scaning, etc until networkselector is called.

10.4.9 kernel 8.9.1

rev 400 for iwi3945

no kernel panic and NS show no Mac Address for en1:

hello world: send network list

I will trying now, see if what I can do....

Jalavoui, could not find function ipw_send_power_mode2(), how to check ...add new loop function to check the 3945 state?

Jalavoui, could not find function ipw_send_power_mode2(), how to check ...add new loop function to check the 3945 state?

it's a iolog msg for ipw_send_power_mode()

it's in the bg_alive_start() ;)

all bugs are in here.

the most important thing to do now is to make the option (1) work - it's very needed for make the driver work

the iwidarwin site

i don't know why i'm unable to put files in the download session.

it keep saying that i need to contact the administrator site - well i'm one of them

can someone check this?

take a look at this page

http://support.intel.com/support/notebook/sb/CS-006408.htm

you should all go there and sugest intel to add a reference to iwidarwin (Mac OS X driver) site

we're doing great things in here :)

Just back to home from outside, one of my college classmate just come back from the North for his 5.1 holidays. I take a look on Intel's website.

iwi3945 rev 404

add code for option (1) turn card on of networkselector

http://code.google.com/p/iwidarwin/

use networkselector to turn the card on

moses,

can you add the status (on/off) to nsGUI when changing power mode?

also need to add a routine to check the driver status.

if the card switch from off to on it should say "scanning..."

if it is already on it should display the status (associated, etc)

maybe you can find a way to add a timer for checking the status (i mean a auto-refresh). a 5 second delay will do it

change the code in iwi2200.cpp for the case when associating fails - nsGUI should display a error msg

when associated to a network you need to disable the "select network"

iwi3945 rev 404.

logs:

dmesg.txt

system.txt

as for the network selector, can't tell if the card is working or not..
