Madnesz
Man... read the post... no combo updates, this is specifically the point. No combo updates is what javilou said... in apple site one can only find either combo updates, or normal update from 10.4.6 to 10.4.7, not from 10.4.5.... Javilou pls help on this pls As far as I know there is no special 10.4.5-10.4.7-Update. There are 2 Versions: 10.4.6-10.4.7 AND 10.4.x through 10.4.6 to 10.4.7. OS X updates And another thing: Why should these updates have different .kexts? OS X updates And another thing: Why should these updates have different .kexts? Exactly. There is no such thing as a 10.4.5 to 10.4.7 update. What I assume is that jalavoui meant using the Delta Updates to go from 10.4.5 to 10.4.6 and THEN to 10.4.7. Though you're right. There's no real reason to do this because the .kext you would get from the 10.4.7 Combo Update should be the same as the one you would get by applying all the Delta Updates. (Unless you did something weird and unexpected like starting from 10.4.3 or 10.4.1.) I made the mistake of applying the Airport update and it stopped working so I used the IO80211Family.kext and Apple80211.framework from the 10.4.7 Combo update and everything is working fine using iwi2200.kext from beta6. Spaniard
What are the main differences between the 10.4.8 versions of these and the 10.4.7 version? I'm not sure, but there are some since the first betas would not work with the 10.4.8 kexts. Since I got it to work with the 10.4.7 kexts before the Airport update, I just stuck to the formula that worked for me. xkazu
Hi guys, 2 questions regarding iwi2200 on 10.4.8. We should still be using those from the 10.4.7 update, and not others right? iwi2200-v6-test is built in 10.4.8 environment( io80211family 1.4.0 ). i heard that 10.4.7 and earler version is not crash in airport menu . (if u dont setup network name, i think that it is np ( in 1.4.0)). I posted "plz post status! for compatibility list" because i want to know problem in sevaral version. I want to release for working in all version Specifically javilou said to use the ones that come with 10.4.5 to 10.4.7 update (not combo). But this one is not aviable anywhere... I can only find 10.4.6 to 10.4.7 update. Is it enough? (Jalavoui xkazu?) Can anybody post the link to 10.4.5 to 10.4.7 update? jalavoui recommend older version ( 10.4.7 and earlyer ). but i think that iwi2200 should have availability in newer version. and i dont wish to install older version. and about network interface name. interfacename is detected automaticaly in v6-test. interface name is embedded to source code on iwi2200-v5 and early version. xkazu
i can't use it cause i only have a laptop to test i think sooner or later someone will fix the firmware problem and the driver will work maybe kazu? my 2945abg is embedded as minipci ,too. if mini pci's3945abg ( not pci express ), i may change 2945abg to 3945abg. if there are 3945's cardbus card, it is good. ( but i dont know) the 2100 code is easier to work if you know linux all you need is the linux sources and some functions of iwi2200 if you can fix the firmware loading bug the driver will work good luck iwi2100 may work? it is realy? i think ... if firmware loading is working, routine after firmware dont work correctly. macmanr
My 2200 card is now working. My airport icon shows still : airport not configured. But im connected to the net. Speed is fine, when its slow i turn of the card, and turn back on. Most time the speed is normal. I installed 10.4.8 Jas blanc installation. Only put in the iwi2200.kext /System/Library/Extensions and that is it. When i reboot laptop, EN0 is inactive. By turning of the card, and turning on its Active. eugmoon
I tried it: The kext wasn't installed properly. Did you type the following commands from Terminal? sudo -s chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/iwi3945.kext chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/iwi3945.kext rm /System/Library/Extensions.* kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions Also, the logs he needs are three text files you can create with the following commands: sudo -s dmesg > dmesg.txt cat /var/log/system.log > system.txt ioreg -w 0 > ioreg.txt If you've already typed 'sudo -s' from the lines above, you don't need to type it again.
