deeveedee
For those using Norton 360 Premium Security Suite, it appears that Norton Transparent Proxy is not yet compatible Tahoe 26.5 Beta 3 at the time of this post. Hopefully Norton has an update soon. In the mean time, users of Norton Security Suite can use a browser other than Safari, manually disable Norton Transparent Proxy or uninstall Norton Security Suite. 4 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362589-pre-release-macos-tahoe-265/page/5/#findComment-2849343 Share on other sites

Skyfallkavu
Did IntelMausi break for anyone else? Edit: Nevermind. I'm an idiot and had it disabled in the bios for at least a week and just noticed now. But with Tahoe and Sequoia, it's no longer possible to use a folder with custom icons; it only allows colored dots. 2 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362589-pre-release-macos-tahoe-265/page/5/#findComment-2849358 Share on other sites

I can't try because 26.5 Beta is not installed on my machine (waiting 26.5 release). EDIT: Found on reedit r/MacOSBeta > Go to finder settings, go to Tags, just put a random Tag into that favorites box. And voila! There is the Customize Folder showing up. Is this solution working ? Thanks for replying, it seems it is now possible, but previously in Sonoma, Sequoia, and Tahoe, the implementation of a custom folder in OpenCore in the boot EFI stopped working. 5 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362589-pre-release-macos-tahoe-265/page/5/#findComment-2849371 Share on other sites

litemint09
Hey everyone, so hows the performance of 26.5? Would it be beta 3 will be the polished build before releasing? 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362589-pre-release-macos-tahoe-265/page/5/#findComment-2849393 Share on other sites

I can't guarantee that macOS 26.5 will be a success — I'm no oracle. But speaking of the current release, macOS 26.4.1 (25E253) feels much more stable and performs better than previous builds on my hardware. If the upcoming beta follows this trend, it should be solid, but we'll only know for sure after the RC. 😜 5 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362589-pre-release-macos-tahoe-265/page/5/#findComment-2849399 Share on other sites
Zevgoli
Ok. So I have tried to upgrade to 26.5 via the public beta route. This has proven better in terms of upgrading and stability. I think I will stick with this for a while. deeveedee
@Zevgoli My "production" volumes stay on final releases only. I maintain separate APFS volumes for beta experimentation. If you want to try betas (public and/or developer), you may want to try maintaining one or more separate volumes for beta testing. With regard to EFI testing, my "production" EFI is installed on my boot SSD. I test candidate changes to my EFI on a USB. After I have thoroughly tested the candidate USB EFI, I copy it to my boot SSD to become my "production" EFI. Having multiple macOS volumes and maintaining a test EFI on USB has saved me more than once. 7 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362589-pre-release-macos-tahoe-265/page/5/#findComment-2849402 Share on other sites

kgp
The end of the KDK confusion! Successful root patching of macOS 26.5 beta 3 (25F5058e) using Kernel Debug Kit 26.5 (Build 25F5058e), which is now also available on the Dortania mirror. This time, OCLP 3.0.0 Nightly (amfipassbeta variant) automatically detected the correct KDK: AppleHDA, Wi-Fi and AWDL and sleep/wake are all working flawlessly. 👍 Spoiler Spoiler Edited April 24 by kgp 3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362589-pre-release-macos-tahoe-265/page/5/#findComment-2849453 Share on other sites
