Hi guys

I just released a new version of Bootabler to create Bootable USB Disk or ISO images.

I hope you enjoy it and find it useful :)

The link to download directly from my site:

Bootabler v. 1.4

What's New in This Version

  • Securely saves administrator credentials in keychain
  • Added automatic password retrieval for installing InstallAssistant.pkg
  • Security improvements
  • Major UI design improvements
  • Complete process termination when canceling a task
  • Better progress management with different phases (still needs to be refined)
  • Unified USB Creation with SIP is enabled
  • Built-in password management for administrator privileges.
  • Time calculation for running tasks

If you encounter any issues with the app please let me know.

Bootabler is compatible with macOS Big Sur and newer.

With special thanks to @eSaF and @Max.1974 for their donations and their supports. ❤️

Cheers

An app like this is a must-have.
"Built-in password management..."
Once you've entered the password, you don't need to enter it every time, right?
If so, this is the icing on the cake, and in my opinion, all apps should have it.

Thx 👏

Yes once the password is saved securely in the keychain you don't have to enter the password anymore.

This is awesome, it's so boring every time. Great!
It would be nice to be able to apply this to all apps, like mounting/unmounting the EFI, for example... ESPMounter did that.

THX

No! ESP Mounter Pro does not store passwords on the keychain.

No it does not, it uses a helper tool instead to elevate the app's privileges, something that I couldn't manage to get to work without apple provisioning profile which requires paid apple developer membership AFIAK.

Cyberdevs I don't want to pollute your thread . 🙃

Exactly, use helper / privileges tool.

Once you set it, it doesn't ask for the password anymore... even after rebooting.

It doesn't work very well, anyway. If you don't select "show all device," only Windows can see it.

But the reason I haven't used it anymore is this daemon ( insanelymac.com ) in background , that I don't like.

I think he was referring to PrivilegedHelperTool to make it start at startup

@Anto65

It's ok we can have a discussion here as long as it's not way too off-topic.

The ESP Mounter Pro is a very well designed and well thought off application by @Micky1979 and I've been using it for a very long time. I had some issues with it on Tahoe and the toolbar icon isn't showing correctly on my 4K 32" display something that bothers me sometimes bot not that much that makes me stop using it.

@Anto65

Can you check something?

Right click on the installer.app, select Show Package Contents->Contents find info.plist, open it and look for DTPlatformBuild and check it agains the Build number in the app

Just release version 1.3.8

This version securely saves administrator credentials in the keychain. To view the password in keychain user must enter administrator password.

Added automatic password retrieval for installing InstallAssistant.pkg
