deeveedee
@MaLd0n I'm jealous! That Intel Core Ultra is a beast!!! Impressive. Very fast and smooth incremental OTA upgrade from Sequoia 15.5 Beta 1 -> Beta 2 on my HackMini8,1. Booting with OC 1.0.4. Not using OCLP. Disabled BluetoolFixup.kext prior to upgrade. No issues to report. deeveedee
Smooth OTA upgrade from Sequoia 15.5 Beta 1 -> Beta 2 in test volume on my HackBookPro6,2. Applying post-install patches with OCLP 2.3.2. Booting with OC 1.0.4. Posting this with Safari 18.5. Only issue I noticed is that the Safari vertical scroll bar is finicky (need to use page-up/page-down or up/down cursor keys to navigate on this page). CPU/GPU power management still works perfectly (fan hardly runs). Still amazed that this old hack keeps chugging along. 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360859-pre-release-macos-sequoia-155/page/3/#findComment-2831692 Share on other sites
AlfredoM
Why are you writing the update from Beta 1 to Beta 2? Beta 2 for 15.5 isn't available yet! AlfredoM
Thanks for the correction. I must have missed Beta 1, so I just installed Beta 2 and then the 24F5053f. Hi @deeveedee are you try using this revpatches in Nvram to get update without disable the kexts? Here I get normally: cpuname, sbvmm, diskread, pci and SIP 850A0000 (im using intel bluetooth and wireless itlwm) AX210 from soldered by Lenovo T14 😎 Update with Clover and Opencore 4 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360859-pre-release-macos-sequoia-155/page/3/#findComment-2831736 Share on other sites
deeveedee
@Max.1974 My published Open Core EFI is attached here (my published EFI does not include Bluetooth kexts, so I have added Intel Bluetooth kexts, including BluetoolFixup.kext on my hack). Is it possible that we no longer need to disable BluetoolFixup.kext prior to upgrading? I had started disabling BluetoolFixup.kext to allow the incremental upgrade (not the full 15+GB installer). I'll test without disabling BluetoolFixup.kext when I get a chance. Max.1974
Hi @deeveedee That's cool!!! I didn't know about that detail either, and the update should be pretty quick. But in any case, when I use the kexts, it starts with a small update, but then goes to the full one... I'm going to test your tactic too. Thanks my dear. Learning every day! 😀 Thanks! 5 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360859-pre-release-macos-sequoia-155/page/3/#findComment-2831741 Share on other sites
deeveedee
@Max.1974 You and me both! I'm going to miss this when Apple discontinues Intel support. For those who are upgrading legacy hacks to Sequoia 15.5, Safari 18.5 no longer loads web pages after upgrading my HackBookPro6,2 (2010 Nvidia Tesla graphics) from Sequoia 15.5 Beta 2 -> Beta 3. Safari 18.5 loaded InsanelyMac and MacRumors web pages in Beta 2, but Safari 18.5 no longer loads the pages in Beta 3. My work-around is to use Firefox. EDIT: This Safari problem is specific to old legacy hacks that require non-metal OCLP post-install patches. Newer hacks with metal support shouldn't have this problem. mnfesq
I noticed that, after installing Beta 3, my CPU temp and frequency were high again. I checked to see if PerfPowerServices was acting up once again. It was fine. However, now, a process called Shortcuts was using up all of my system resources. I tried to quit the process and it wouldn't quit. Force quit worked and the process did not resume and CPU temp and frequency returned to normal. Does anyone know anything about this process and, is this another process requiring a VirtualSMC update? My system seems to run fine once I have force quit the process so it's not a critical problem. 3 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360859-pre-release-macos-sequoia-155/page/3/#findComment-2831774 Share on other sites

deeveedee
@mnfesq Use your favorite search engine to search for the process. You'll see multiple references that suggest the culprit could be a 3rd party app (so it might not be macOS). The references suggest possible solutions. mnfesq
@eSaF and @deeveedee, I no longer seem to have a problem with the shortcuts process. I was traveling when I installed the update and was using a hotel wifi. It had a login page, not just a wifi password. I think it had something to do with that. Now that I am back home using my own wifi network, all is well. 6 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/360859-pre-release-macos-sequoia-155/page/3/#findComment-2831801 Share on other sites
