XoDeus
I'm using MainMenu to keep my mac running smooth. Just run the Montly Maintanence Task once a week and it does the job. You can get MainMenu for free. Rammjet
Just run the Montly Maintanence Task once a week and it does the job. The Daily, Weekly and Monthly tasks will run automatically if you leave your computer on all the time. They usually take place at 3:00 AM or so. There are ways to modify the cron job to change the times that they regularly run. And you should run all three if you are manually performing a cleaning, because the Monthly cleans up stuff from the Weekly and Daily. SpeedfreaK
I use system optizer x for my g3 and i don't use software for my hackintosh, but i think i will install system optimizer x, because os x becomes a bit slower. http://www.mkd.cc/sox/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35802-keeping-os-x-in-good-condition/#findComment-256281 Share on other sites
Rammjet
I use system optizer x. http://www.mkd.cc/sox/ Onyx is free and does much more than System Optimizer X except SOX can do these two things: Compress Minimized Windows - System Optimizer says you only need this if you have 256 MB RAM or less. Optimize Internet Connection - I have my own settings I use. Adding a simple system configuration file takes care of it.
