Does anyone know where the CPU Name from com.apple.SystemProfiler.plist appears in Ventura?  I'm referring to the CPU Name which appeared in "About This Mac" in previous macOS versions.  Thanks.

@ricoc90 Ha, ha.  I know where com.apple.SystemProfiler.plist is located (and how to edit it). Where is the CPU Name string that used to appear in "About This Mac" in previous macOS versions?

@ricoc90 My old eyes are playing tricks on me.  My Monterey "About This Mac" is shown here.  My Ventura "About This Mac" -> More Info is shown below.  Maybe if I look harder I'll see it.

It's not a big deal.  Just wondering.

@ricoc90 - I figured out what's going on.  In Ventura, we can't edit CPU Name in com.apple.SystemProfiler.plist in the same way that we did in previous versions of macOS.  For Ventura, we can only edit the text inside of the parens:

The Mac Model string must remain unchanged.  For my edit above, the result in "About This Mac" -> More Info is

Notice that all having this trouble (powerd high CPU usage) have the system in Spanish language. Maybe it's a language specific issue but I've tried changing the system language to English and rebooting. Without success.

Have you tried moving to another country?

Good night. Maybe this is a clue to the origin of the problem. When I have gone to the Energy Saver panel I have seen that the scheduler option does not exist. Only Power Nap, network access and reboot after power failure. I'm pretty sure that other options are missing. So, I can't try the solution proposed in the link you posted.

Scheduler missing also with system in English. I think our problem has to do with a defective Energy Saver panel.

This is incredible ..... 😆

I installed beta 4 yesterday on the 12400f... everything was going great, I didn't change anything, I didn't do anything more than update, from yesterday until a while ago everything worked, and without further ado, I was using safari and playing a movie with MPV at the same time time and began to have a high CPU consumption, I remembered your post, I looked at the activity monitor and I already had the powerd consuming CPU... I have restarted several times and it is not solved.

We have a problem, because in the Lenovo this mysterious thing does not happen 🤷‍♂️

LoL simply, you're enrolled on "Apple Beta Software Program" (also known as Public beta seed) and not in a "Developer Seed Apple" :)

Good night. Since beta 4, powerd process is getting high CPU load even disabling Bluetooth and CPU temp is about 50-60º at idle when before it was 30-40º.

Trying to kill it from Activity Monitor doesn't work.

Does it happens to someone else?

@PoMpIs

How do yo find about sudo pmset schedule cancelall and our powerd issue? 🤔

Anyway, nice find, high usage of powerd has gone and CPU team is 30-40º at idle.

The strange thing is the relationship between the issue and the system language as nobody with non Spanish system has reported it.

Next thing is to see if it happens again after boots.

Gracias!!!

Italian language. Activity monitor was not showing any powerd (incredible, checked many times) but my CPU temperature (normally at 30 degrees in idle) was constantly between 45 and 50 degrees. In the energy section of system report I had the same situation as the screen attached by @PoMpIs. Launched from terminal "sudo pmset schedule cancellal" everything is solved! So thank you very much to @PoMpIs
