aufuk1
Hi, VoodooPS2Controller, VoodooRMI, VoodooSMBUS When I add these 3 kexts, the multitouch sometimes works. There are times when I restart the computer it doesn't work. For this we need to make a separate setting from Opencore? pctmac
HI I'm trying to install Catalina on a 840 G2 i5-5300U Graphics HD5500 bios M71 1.27 with your EFI as several of them are fully fonctional. I tried with EFI from sharad9401 (20-08-2020) and Trackpad Fix-OC 0.6.1 from erko2001 (29-09-2020) with same result. When I select Install Catalina from my USB, I have the progression bar which is completely on the right and looks very bad : looks like there is an issue with graphic ? Obvioulsy I can't see the install program when the apple dissapear. have you any idea ? moreover, this is my first hack with opencore, I do not know how to get the debug on the screen, as when you add -v as a boot option on Clover from the menu. pctmac
Ok I found and added -v as bootargs. I am trying the EFI above from Axon_80 sent on Nov 3 2020 and tried to install Catalina on my HP Elitebook 840 G2 i5-5300U Graphics HD5500 bios M71 1.31, 2x4Go ram, SSD 128Go from a USB stick. After selecting Install Catalina from USB in the menu, I then have the following errors and nothing happen : Dependency com.apple.iokit.IOHIDSystem fallback to com.apple.iokit.IOHIDFamily succeeded. Please fix your kext! OC: Prelink injection VoodooRMI.kext\Contents\PlugIns\RMIIC2.kext () - Invalid Parameter I tried to disable VoodooRMI.kext/Contents/PlugIns/RMII2C.kext, VoodooRMI.kext/Contents/PlugIns/VoodooInput.kext and VoodooRMI.kext/Contents/PlugIns/RMISMBus.kext : the second error is not displayed anymore (but the first one is still there) but the boot is still stuck and nothing happen. I would appreciate some help Thanks My config.plist and opencore debug files, all the rest of EFI is the same as the one from Axon_80 opencore-2021-01-29-172643.txt config.plist I also tried the EFI -Trackpad Fix-OC 0.6.1 from erko2001 29-09-2020 and booting from an SDD with an up to date Catalina and It stops on the following screen : the corresponding debug file : opencore-2021-01-29-213806.txt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/343299-hp-elitebook-840g2-with-opencore-057catalina-10154-cant-boot-first-install/page/5/#findComment-2749704 Share on other sites

Should fix the error VoodooPS2Controller.kext.zip 82.61 kB · 2 downloads Thanks. I made huge progress, almost done but still not complete. EDIT see at the end of this post What I did : 1/ reseted the BIOS and set the following : Fast Boot - off Boot Mode - UEFI Native Video memory size 64MB Sata speed 6.0Gbs Deep Sleep - off Wake on lan - Disable 2/ put the VoodooPS2Controller.kext above in the Axon_80's EFI posted 8 Oct 2020. 3/ made the following change in the config.plist (file attached): add -v args debug : set AppleDebug, ApplePanic, DisableWatchDog to Yes set Target to 67 set security ScanPolicy to 0 I was then able to boot and install bigsur. After 3 reboot selecting Install BigSur, on the 4th reboot (see picture boot2), I selected BigSur on my SSD and was thinking it would be ok but it hang and never finish to launch bigsur (picture boot 4). So there is 2 issues : 1/ on all reboot, the -v start to display on the screen the message with #[EB..] line (see picture boot 3) but then when the kernel is loading, the screen become unreadable (see picture boot 1), until the graphics interface show the BigSur install menu. If I remove the -v, I do have the Apple and then it reboot (see picture boot 4). 2/ on the 4th reboot, I launch bigsur from the menu but after the Apple is displayed, the progression bar is strange, it hangs and reboot (see picture boot 4). Any though are welcome. Thanks config.plist EDIT : Looking at the USB, I find a panic.txt file with the first line : "Rooting from the live fs of a sealed volume is not allowed on a RELEASE build\n"com.apple./AppleInternal/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/apfs/apfs-1677.81.1/kext/apfs_vfsops.c:2031 After a quick search, I found apparently a solution : I put SecureBootModel to Disabled in config.plist Misc/Security and voilà ! I was able to complete the installation. So it remains the display problem of the progression bar when I boot. The new issue I have is the following : I copied the EFI from my USB to my SSD. But I do have a second SSD on the nvme with Fedora. And when I boot, I do not know how to easily select my nmve SSD for Fedora or the SATA SSD for bigsur. The equivalent of the F12 on legacy bios. Is there no way to have the 2 SSDs in the menu from the bios ? I know have to configure my Intel WIFI. New config.plist created based on OpenCore 0.6.1 also compatible with 0.6.2 Unnecessary kexts and drivers are removed Boot time significantly increased This EFI is configured for integrated Intel Wifi card with AirportItlwm.kext. Native Wifi and Airport supported. For Broadcom use included kexts for broadcom in KEXTs folder. No issue with sleep and wake functions. All the kexts are updated (21.09.2020) Full secureboot with apECID support Native-like trackpad support with all gestures. This EFI is mainly for 820 G2 but also works with 840 G2 Keep in mind that you NEED to change a few things in config.plist in order to get iMessages etc. ALSO for full secureboot you need to generate an unique apECID for yourself. The things that you need to change yourself are marked in red in the screenshot. In order to create apECID go to https://www.python.org/shell/ and paste the following code. The number that shell prints is your unique apECID number. import secrets; print(secrets.randbits(64)) EFI.7z Hi erko2001 When I paste my ApECID in the config.plist, PlistEditPro says "Invalid value". The number returned by https://www.python.org/shell/ has 20 digits with a 0 at the end. If I remove this last 0, then PlistEditPro accept it. How long is supposed to be an ApECID ? I also notice you have SecureBootModel set to j680 : can you advise what does mean this value ? I had to put Disabled to be able to boot from the EFI from Axon_80 Thanks Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/343299-hp-elitebook-840g2-with-opencore-057catalina-10154-cant-boot-first-install/page/5/#findComment-2751068 Share on other sites

I had to put Disabled to be able to boot from the EFI from Axon_80 Thanks Thanks So I put the 19 digit returned for ApECID, put my new SMBIOS with serial made with genSMBIOS, put SecureBootModel to Default and restarted ; but quite quickly, I had a reboot with an error on the secure boot and ending by a restart:recovery. So I put SecureBootModel to Disabled, then BigSur started normally. I logged to Apple and everything is ok (message etc) I was able to connect to Wifi but it seems unstable ; sometime I am disconnected and need to reconnect. A small issue : when viewing a video on youtube with Brave in full screen, it turns black after a few seconds. If I stop and restart the video, it appears again few second and disappear again. Viewing with Safari is ok, might be rather a Brave issue. I noticed that when I close the screen the HP goes to sleep, but when I open agin the screen, it remains at sleep : I have to press the power button to wake up : same for you ? So everything seems ok, except the remaining issue of the progression bar that do not appears properly under the Apple logo : any thought on this ? I am back to the original standard boot picker as Opencanopy will not start despite trying a few things in the EFI. Is this working for you? It's the first time Opencanopy has failed to work on me and I can't see why that is happening. Secondly the keyboard map seems to have slightly changed. Firstly this is on a HP840 G2. Secondly the keyboard change was easy to fix by just changing the modifier keys in Settings. It's only OpenCanopy that isn't working as I was expecting but the laptop boots really nicely and so far I am seeing no issues. Thanks again. After editing configuration of VoodooPS2Controller the issue was resolved. @acetuk You can try this EFI with addition of your M.2 specific configurations. It may can work. EFI-Trackpad Fix-OC 0.6.1 Hi erko2001 Can you detailed the edits you made to VoodooPS2Controller ? you have used VoodooPS2Controller version 1.9.2, Copyright Apple Computer, Inc. 2000-2003, David Elliot 2007, RehabMan 2012-2013 I tried to use latest version 2.2.1 available here https://github.com/acidanthera/VoodooPS2/releases/tag/2.2.1 with OC 0.6.4 or OC 0.6.5 but when it wake up from sleep, the trackpad does not work.
